POR which building to request

We are having 2 rooms, and want adjoining with trundles (if possible) and onthe first floor - Do I need to request trundles?

Also which building is a good one? We have 13,12,9,6,5 and 2 on the trip.

I was thinking Magnolia Terrace (BLDG 85) or Oak Manor (BLDG 90) or in Aligator Bayou bldg 14.

We ahve a pretty good shot of getting what I request since we are a grand gathering and they schedule those rooms prior to the non-grand gatherings -or so I have been told

We usually eat counter service at the resort for breakfast, so I would like to be close to that, and then be able to walk to bus stop... but also would like a close bus stop for at night when heading back to room.

Only Aligator Bayou has rooms with Trundles. the Manor houses do not.
also do you mean adjoining? or connecting? connecting means you can go from one to the next.

I meant connecting, I spelled it out to the CM that I wanted the door between, as I knew there was a difference in wording between connecting and adjoining.

It may be safer to drop the 1st floor request and only request trundles in Alligator Bayou if you really need them and the adjoining as a second request.
The more requests you have the harder it is to honor them. We are staying there in May 08 and we requested, trundle beds in AB and 1st floor for my daughter who will have 2 very small children.

We just got back from POR and stayed in bldng. 16. My first request had been bldng. 14. The location for 14 was GREAT. Very convenient to the food court, main pool, and main bus stop, there is also a quiet pool not far.

16 was further back, and, though we loved it, we really wished we had gotten 14. The cool thing about 14 is that it is closer to things but still maintains the quiet, peacefulness of the AB section.

As far as AB vs. Mansions, I think it really depends on personal taste. We FAR prefer the look and feel of the AB both inside and outside. If you do like the Mansions more, I would suggest 85 for convenience.

However, the poster above is correct, only the AB section has the trundle beds.

Also, between connecting request, 1st floor request, and bldng. request, I would give 1 up, as the more requests you have, the less likely you are to get your bldng request, thus, I would give up either connecting or 1st floor.

Also, know that if your first choice is a very popular choice (such as 14) and you also give a second choice, they are very likley to give you your second choice, since they know you would still be happy with that and then they can put people who only requested 14, in 14, make sense. This is what the CM reco'd to us, as I had given 16 as a second choice.

We are more interested in the "mansions" type room (we live in a more alligator bayou type place!)

Which is a good building/room for us to request? We probably care the most about access to the bus and the pool (doesn't have to be the main pool) - I've looked at the map but would love some expert advice! Thanks!

I would recommend 85 for convenient to the main pool, a bus stop, a quiet pool, and the foodcourt. If we had stayed in the Mansions, I would have requested this one. The nice thing about the Mansions section, is you're also a really quick walk to FQ to check that out. Have fun!

I'm not 100% positive, but I think on my last trip I was in AB 26 and it was horrible. Horrible bc I could never find it. I got lost almost everytime trying to get to my room from parking lot. And I'm not navigationally challenged.

I hope I 'm saying the right building. The main point is that it may sound lame or silly, but there are buidlings that are difficult to find. It was really annoying.

Wonder if anyone else has experienced this same problem?

I would suggest building 80. We just got back from there. The main pool was just a short walk and then over the bridge and there is the pool. There is also a quiet pool right at the end of building 80. (Acaidan House). There is also a bus stop (North Depot) that isnt too far. Although the main bus stop and the foodcourt ect. seemed like a long walk to me.

Hopefully you will get what you requested. We requested Alligator Bayou 1st floor close to the main bus stop. We got Acadian House 2cd floor far from main bus stop/foodcourt. We did get connecting rooms though whcih we requested.

Great info - thanks! We leave in 6 days Should I call and make a request now or wait until I check in? I've heard that they assign rooms as they become available but have also read that they assign them ahead of time

I'd prefer AB 14 but basically will just be happy to be there!

We were in AB bldg 16 and it was great. My first choice was bldg 14 but I was happy with 16. It was close to the food court, main bus stop, a quiet pool and an easy walk to Ole Man Island

We used a twin size air mattress instead of the trundle and it worked great!

I am posting from my room in AB 14. I had requested 14 or 15 and got 14 and I must say I am glad I made that request. We didn't care about upper or lower floor so we are on upper and I can't complain. The stairs are no big deal, we tend to do stairs over elevators anyway.

Did you request that before you got there or at check-in?

We stayed in building 25 August. We did get lost going to our room after check in and again going to the main pool one day but by the time we checked out after 3 nights I knew how to get around.
