POR vs split at POFQ??

Which would you pick?

  • POR and hope for a refurbished room

  • POFQ with split reservation at same resort and day without free dining

I have free dining booked for next year Feb at POFQ but all my dates were not available so I booked one extra night as a separate reservation without free dining BUT I can stay ALL my nights at POR with free dining (garden view vs Standard at POFQ), should I just switch???

Stayed at a refurbished room in POFQ and loved it, worried I may not get a refurbished room at POR in Feb and I have read bad things about the buses and the old rooms.

I do want free dining for my entire stay and I am also worried about switching rooms at POFQ if they cant accommodate me

Hi!

We stayed at POFQ in 2008 and loved it too... except the long bus transit... but it will probably be the same with POR, as most of the time the bus stops at both resorts, as you must know (unless it changed?).

I think as if you're sure you won't stray from the DDP (like using credits for a signature meal or have unused snack credits, etc) and it's really, really important to you to have all your food paid for in advance and not having to think about that, well then go with the POR so all that is taken care of.

But if you don't mind paying OOP for just one day, which I know in our case wouldn't matter much since we probably wouldn't use the DDP credits exactly "by the book" and would end up having to pay some OOP anyways... I would do the split stay to be able to do POFQ and be sure to have the most magical stay possible... and at the same time, check out POR! ;)

Sorry I can't give you a more definitive answer...

We love POR refurbed or not. So my vote goes for POR. More choices at the foodcourt too.

We love POR...we stayed there in december and loved it and would go back again without the room being refurb.

We love POR. We got a new GV room last Aug. It was very nice. If you go on the POR thread there may be a refirb. sched. It was our 3rd time at POR.

We never had a bad old room, and have had good bus service. Great resort, and IMO has the most beautiful grounds of all the WDW resorts.

we booked a garden view at POR for February. At the time of booking, the cm suggested this because we would have a refurb'ed room. I was told garden view is a new category that only includes the rooms with queen beds.

since that time, I have called to confirm this on 2 different occasions and was told the same thing.

You may want to call and get confirmation on this as well.

Voted for POR as if you can stay in the same room without moving is always a good thing..

So we decided to go with the garden view at POR, lets hope for a refurbished room!!!

Thanks ;)

They seemed to have opened up rooms or something because garden views opened for my entire stay at POFQ and they are still showing availability. I had switched to POR but switched back to where we really wanted to stay :thumbsup2:banana:
