Hi!

Can anyone tell me if the campfire on Ol' Man Island is up and running? Also, any info you have on the fishing would be great too!

Thanks!

Karen

Karen,

We just returned from POR after a weeks stay on June 8th. Did not notice any campfire on OMI any night of our stay. We had two families staying at POR and the kids did fish there a couple of days for about an hour at a time. Two of the three kids fishing there did land fish albeit small ones. They got excited about it all the same. We really didn't notice much in the way of cutbacks at POR except the chicken and BBQ place at the foodcourt is still closed and the main bus station is the only one open. The bus service seemed slow especially on EE days to the designated parks. I'm sure you will enjoy your stay at POR. We did. We were in AB #27 which was a great location in our opinion.

Does anyone know the "story" behind the closed bus stops. This is concerning me as I am planning to stay at POR for an upcoming trip and do not want to stay with only one bus stop open.

the bus stops are closed since 1/2 of the resort is closed as well. Not all of the bldgs are open, so instead of the driver driving in a complete circle....(only 2 of the Mansions if I remember correctly were open) they stop at the south depot only.... not that helps you and if I were staying in the Mansions, I would be pretty ticked off with that. I returned from an 8 night stay on 6/9 (must have been there the same time doubled07). If you plan on staying there, request the Aligator Bayou section so you will not be that far from the stop....

The reason for the closed bus stops is most of the buildings in the back of AB and a couple of the mansions are not occupied! The bus service does seem slow especially to the parks on the designated EE days and the crowd does build in the mornings at the bus stop. We were at the stop by 7:30 each morning of our stay and never made it to any of the parks for start of EE.

Does anyone know when they expect this to be completed. I'm thinking of going Easter 2004 and would not want to stay there with only one stop, although I bet the food court was not that crowded.

I knew about the renovations, FQ being closed, but I thought they were going to do one building at a time in POR.
