Did anyone have trouble with waiting a long time for buses to the parks?

A friend stayed there last year (Jan 2012) and this was not a problem when she was there. Hopefully someone will have more current info for you.

We stayed there last May, generally no more than 5-10 minutes. Once or twice we just missed the bus to the park we were going to but still never waited more than 10-15 minutes.

Bus wait times are subjective and how busses are on a given day probably changes daily (if not hourly). I wouldn't say one resort has better bus service over another because of this. FWIW, I have stayed at POR twice and have had no complaints with the buses.

Never more than a 10 minute wait. The bus areas are covered so you don't get wet, and have benches to sit on while you wait. :thumbsup2

Agree with this completely. Buses may come less frequently during the middle of the day, but we have never had a problem with long waits. Some people, though, can't seem to tolerate even a short wait :confused3. If you're one of these people, then you might prefer driving yourself to the parks.

One more in agreement. We've had both great and not so great waits at all of the moderate resorts. I would probably give POFQ a slight edge on the others though.

We like to get the bus at the Main Lobby stop, no matter where at POR our building is. POR is like a big wheel with bridges across the center, so it doesn't matter (to us) if you get the bus close to your bldg or walk across the river to the main bldg. At the Lobby Stop, the buses are just coming on property and probably empty. If you're at the 3rd or 4th stop, you might not get a seat during rush hours. Coming back, we get off at the Lobby and stop at the gift shop, food court or Yehaa Bob before walking to our bldg. Sometimes there will be a bus supervisor at the Lobby Stop, keeping track of everything and organizing people into lines.

We do the exact same thing, always leave and return by the lobby, even if our room is in the back of the resort. Our family likes the relaxing stroll back to the room, it is a very nice walk. I get a kick out of some people that say they had to drive to the lobby because it's so far:rotfl2: It's a 8-10 minute walk or about 15 minutes with our 2 DD's:) They love walking by the river and over the bridges.

We have found waits at the resort aren't bad at all, but waits at parks after close can be ugly. We've waited at MK for 30-45+ minutes after the park closes several times. I've found the POR lines at parks to be longer than most other resorts.
