I'm still trying to decide on a resort for our next trip. I'm thinking about mid May and Port Orleans Riverside. I'm kinda concerned that it's due to be rehabbed soon. Do you notice things that are in need of repair? Is it looking run down anywhere?

Also could you tell me about the pool and things to do around the resort? It'll be two adults and two kids ages 7 and 3.

Thanks very much :)

If you go to www.wdwig.com you can find answers to most of questions...

My fiance and I were there this August and we LOVED it. Our room was is very nice shape and I don't see a need to rehab though there is a rumor that it will be rehabed soon, but instead of closing the entire resort like POFQ they're only going to close certain buildings.

There's tons of stuff to do, its very family friendly, you can try out the surrey bikes, take the boat to DTD, hang around in any of the pools ( my DF and I had a quiet pool behind our building that we swam at almost every night b/c it was almost always empty) The main pool is nice too. The option of a sit down restaurant is great but so is the foodcourt. I honestly loved everything about this resort even the semilong walk we had to the main building. The theming is just beautiful.

Check out the website. It has pictures and other reviews from people.
I don't think you can go wrong with POR!

Just returned Thurs. from 5 nights at POR. Stayed in Alligator Bayou #3852. We absolutely loved it and I didn't see anything that looked worn. Our room had recently had new bath wallpaper and caulking, I'm sure. The grounds are absolutely lovely with winding paths and you will see many types of waterfowl, bunnies, squirrels, etc. Staff warm and efficient. We rode the boat to DD-don't miss it. Also, there are horse-drawn carriage rides in addition to various types boats, bikes to rent. The main pool is large-kids will love it, and there is a nice sized hot tub, as well. There are also smaller pools scattered throughout open 24/7. We found the food at Boatwright's (breakfast there several times) to be excellent and reasonably priced. The main food court offers a large number of selections which were also quite good. I had reservations about booking this resort, and finally chose this one. I certainly was not sorry, and can't wait to go back. We particularly enjoyed the peaceful environment....a welcomed change from the sensory overload after a day at the parks. Hope you have a great trip!

I just stayed at POR in November our room was in fine shape. Just read on another post someone wrote the resort is looking shabby but I didn't see it. I'm returning in a couple weeks if it looked shabby I wouldn't be staying there in Feb.

Hi, #1 fan of Alligator Bayou here giving my 2 cents for what their worth. Absolutely love this place. The theming, landscaping and cleanliness of the rooms and the food court were more than fabulous. The place is quiet and charming at night, there is always an uncrowded pool closes by, and the food court always had something for everyone. Can't wait to go back. It is our favorite so far even over the deluxe we stayed at last year. We split up our week and only stayed at POR for 4 days, then we switched to Deluxe (don't want to mention name, out of respect to people who love this crtain place) the six people in our party wished we never switched. Spring break is coming and this time we're not moving!!

Thanks guys,

I also read a post saying they thought POR was starting to look shabby and that worried me. I've been reading posts from people recently back and no one else had mentioned that. I try to stay somewhere new as often as I can, need a moderate I think for this trip and it's either POR or CSR. I'm from the southwest so I have a hard time getting excited about CSR - so I was really hoping POR would work out!

I also think the carriage rides and the boat to Downtown Disney would be fun. I imagine there's a charge for the carriage rides. Can anyone tell me about that?

Thanks again.

Have a good evening :) - and have a great time on your trips!

When we were there last it was $30 for a 1/2 hour ride, for 4 people (in our case they would have let our 3rd child ride free because she was only 4.
