Only at Disney will you find defenders of rooms in need of refurbishment. I’ve stayed in other hotel chains where “refurbishment” is going on and not once have I been in a room as old and worn as the one OP had. One year we stayed at Beach club when it was undergoing refurb- decent shape but scratches on walls and peeling wallpaper noticeable. Stayed RPR that trip as well- also under going refurb, and the RPR room was perfect. In fact couldn’t figure out why it needed a redo as room was in perfect condition.
We just had a stay at Grand Floridian where the carpet stayed soaked by the bed for two days, finally got moved on third day. Clearly a leaky pipe, and dusty floorboard too. Absolutely unacceptable in a “flagship” hotel. Period.
