I have been reading up on POR bus service and it seemed that people were of the belief that only the South depot (by the main building) is used during high traffic periods (morning at opening, evening etc).

Is this true?

Should we even bother waiting at the West depot (or the east depot) if we are heading to the parks or will our time be best used going to the South (main building) depot and grabbing buses from there??

Please help!

All of the bus stops are used. But some stops may have gotten a reputation for having longer waits because the bus arrived already filled by people boarding at the other stops.

We always stay at POFQ, which picks up before POR. Many times the bus has either filled up at our stop or the first POR stop and then skipped the rest.

I don't know what happened to all the folks waiting at the other stops but I suspect another bus is called for them. I've never seen anyone here complaining about overly long waits at stops 2, 3 and 4 at POR but maybe someone who's stayed there can give you some better info.

I have stayed at POR 4 times now. And from what I can tell, the busses are a crap shoot. You don't know if they are going to POFQ before POR, and you don't know what order they will run the stops at POR. Sometimes the South Depot is the first stop, sometimes it is the last.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother walking out of my way to get to the South Depot. Just use the one closest to your room. It will work out just fine.:)

POR is our favorite resort. The buses depend on the time you will be at the stop. If the park opens at 9 we are at the bus stop at 8. You can tell it is me because we have two still asleep kids. We wake, potty and dress them in 10 mins. By doing this, we have never had any problems with the buses. If you caughting the an 8:40 bus you will want to get on at the main stop.

Here is a funny story. During our POR stay about 7-8 years ago in mid January we were heading back to the resort on a bus at an off peak time after lunch. It was us and only 1 other family who were at POFQ. The driver asked them what building they were in and basically drove through the mostly empty parking lot and dropped them off at their building. I said "cool, can we get door service at Riverside too?". The driver said no, he only did that for them at FQ because pulling in he could see the FQ bus stop and no one was waiting. He then said "what the heck, what building are you in?". We said Panterre Place. He proceeded to shut off his display that shows destination, etc and told us not to tell anyone what he was about to do. He pulled into POR and went opposite the "normal" bus loop, pulled into the Panterre Place lot (in which most of the week our car was the only one in it-that's how slow it was) and dropped us off at the entrance to the elevator.
