POR best room/building

I am going to WDW for the first time with my children (my husband and I have been there 3 other times) We will be staying at POR and would like to know what the best room would be if we wanted to be close to the pool and food court? We are going Oct 10-17 FTP. I hope its not too crowded since the FTP ends Oct 30th.

People have expressed most preferences for 2nd floor, non-smoking rooms in Alligator Bayou - Building 27, 15, or 14. Check the resort map for proximity . Somehow, the Bayou seems smaller and more intimate.

My family prefers the Magnolia Terrace building close to the East Depot bus stop, the quiet pool and laundry. It is a short walk to the Pool, and just a little farther to the Dining Hall. These buildings are like old southern mansions. We don't spend much time at the resort except to fall exhausted into our beds, and a few hours at the pool.

Thanks so much for your quick reply. After looking at all the other postings including yours, it sounds as if buildings 14 and 15 will be the ones I request.(first and second choice) Although it sounds like the two mentioned may be pretty popular with most so wish me luck. I know I can't request til 4 days prior. We are going in October. Do the rooms in AB automatically come with a trundle? I would hate to pay an extra $15 a day if it did.

FYI the Fairytale Package was extended into November.
Have fun at Port Orleans, it's a great resort!
