POR Alligator Bayou Area Question

It's Florida--there will be bugs, lizards, frogs and snakes. While I've never seen a 30 foot python in my room, I know that Florida climate/habitat is conducive to those types of critters.

I'm not squeamish about any type of animals (Yes, I don't mind spiders/snakes) so that type of thing doesn't bother me.

In a lush area such as AB, there will be more critters than other areas.

Like most people I have never seen a frog or snake. I have seen a cute bunny though. We have been to POR twice.

I am terrified of snakes of all sizes!!! When I was telling dh about ab section he was teasing me about maybe there would be snakes there. I am so scared I mapped out our trip to AK based on where the snakes resided. I am proud to say I did not see a one.
POR ab section is one of my choices for our 2009 trip and I am glad I do not have to mark it off my list yet for a chance of a snake sighting. My ds 8 and 4 would think it were really cool, but not me.

This reminds me when we went to Disney in 2003. We went to blizzard beach and we were on the lazy river tube ride. I was just floating along with the kids and husband. All of a sudden a snake jumped in the water right next us. Boy did I screem It swam near us for about 45 seconds which was a long time for me until it jumped out of the water back into the grassy area next to the lazy river. My husband was just laughing at me when i was trying to swim away on my tube and protect the kids. It was about 10"-12" long.

Oh my Dear God......I hope I do not see any snakes. I never even thought about them while planning this trip. We are staying at POR. Snakes are my biggest fear! I know it will be more likely for me to walk in my back yard to see one then at DIsney. All it took for me now is for one person to say she heard there were a lot at POR. Now I will be freaked!!

That is what happened to me about the frogs!!!! I read a post about frogs and snakes and then freaked!!!!

I am just going to go and I think request the Mansions side of POR...not because of snakes and frogs but because it will be a little more "romantic" I think for our anniversary trip. But yes, I am very girly so frogs, snakes, big bugs...ha ha ha ...ALL that freaks me out!
