Here are some pictures I took at the Flag Ceremony at MK in January 2005. I hope this works!!!

The flag was at half-mast because of the tsunami victims.

The band came up Main St. to the train station to play for the Flag Retreat Ceremony.

A veteran of the Viet Nam and the Gulf wars was chosen to help Disney Security take down the flag.

After folding the flag,

they handed it to the veteran to carry.

The band played some more,

and then they walked away.

Two weeks from today, I willbe at AK. Actually leaving AK to head over to Whispering Canyon!

Awesome pictures! Thank you SO much for sharing those! I have to make a note on my MK touring plan to get there around 5p for this ceremony! I wonder if they will let kids participate? That would be magical. I wonder how tacky it would be of me to ask a CM? Any thoughts?

Tia...I had never heard of the Flag Ceremony until shortly before this trip, so I made it a point to be there for it. I was on a solo trip so could do whatever whenever I wanted! Anyway, I'd suggest you ask, (maybe at City Hall??) when you first get to MK that morning. Or maybe even in advance if you know what other day(s) you might be in MK at 5 PM. Hopefully, if nobody else has asked yet, they'd let Ryan do it. That would be cool! I think it would mean so much to him. I'm sure they wouldn't let just any kid do it, but it would sure be great if they'd let one whose dad is serving our country do it!!

This is me from January, 2005. I look different now. For one thing, I'm almost 2 years older!! I now have short, gray hair and a puffy face (due to my medication).

This is my DS21 and DD15's Leave a Legacy Tile at Epcot. We visit it every time we go!! They are right in the middle of this picture. He's wearing the hat. It was taken in July, 2000, when he was 15 1/2 and she was 9.

Ok, I will ask. We will be at the MK for MNSSHP on the 2nd and a full day there on the 3rd. When we arrive on the 3rd, I will be sure to track someone down for this! We will be wearing our custom shirts that day, so maybe that will help! Thanks again for sharing!!!!
