Tia you should definately ask, & who knows...you guys might end up being grand marshals of the parade as well. How cool would that be!!!

Grand Marshals? Really? How does that work? I have seen people who have done this, but what do you do to get it? And what happens if you are picked?

I feel so weird asking for things to be "given" to us. But I know I should because the selection process is probably pretty random! Who is in charge of selection? Do you know?

I guess, I could say "Hi, (always a good way to start lol) I understand that each day Disney gives a select family the opportunity to be in the parade and to help with the flag ceremony. My husband is deployed right now and it would mean a lot to my son and I if we could have this opportunity." Or is that too formal? HELP!

I hope it works out for you! We won't be at MK that day, so won't get to watch if he gets to do it. If he does, be sure and post the pictures!!

When we get back you all are going to be so sick of seeing our faces from all of the pictures! lol. Yes, I for sure will. I will post them in our "POP kings and queens" thread that will hopefully be formed after we return!

This is me from January, 2005. I look different now. For one thing, I'm almost 2 years older!! I now have short, gray hair and a puffy face (due to my medication).

This is my DS21 and DD15's Leave a Legacy Tile at Epcot. We visit it every time we go!! They are right in the middle of this picture. He's wearing the hat. It was taken in July, 2000, when he was 15 1/2 and she was 9.

You have very kind eyes. It is wonderful to put a face with the name. And I LOVE your Leave a Legacy. What a neat memory!

Awesome pictures! Thank you SO much for sharing those! I have to make a note on my MK touring plan to get there around 5p for this ceremony! I wonder if they will let kids participate? That would be magical. I wonder how tacky it would be of me to ask a CM? Any thoughts?

Ok, I will ask. We will be at the MK for MNSSHP on the 2nd and a full day there on the 3rd. When we arrive on the 3rd, I will be sure to track someone down for this! We will be wearing our custom shirts that day, so maybe that will help! Thanks again for sharing!!!!

I'm going on my last minute shopping trip Monday to pick up things I still need. Then it's off to get my color done, it's faded sooooo bad. (Black has been really hard to keep up with.) And my DD needs her highlights done, she has at least an inch of roots. I guess it has been a couple months since we've been to the salon. DH needs a haircut but that'll probably not be until next Thursday. Might break down & get some Crocs. Haven't decided yet. But, that's about it. We're ready!!!

Ohhhh, I can go shopping this weekend while DH gets his hair cut! I got my crocs in the mail, but they're too big! So I need to find some different crocs to wear with the costume...my blue crocs just don't quite cut it!

And, ooooooo, I just remembered it'll be the beginning of the year of a million dreams...so you never know what could happen. And you're not asking for yourself, you're asking for Ryan. And, yep, say something like that, it sounds good.

Msslaydbug, i loove that bag, i have it in solid brown! COACH is my all time fave DH buys everything for me oooo and i have a dad that still spoils me rotten, so he often has COACH surprises for me too!!!

i'm obessesed with last years Patent leather collection!! and for Mother's Day DH got me the large straw tote!!!

Dooney is my second fave!!

and then i like Kate, but i only have one of her bags, just haven't caught my eye!!

I never realized these little Coach slings were so popular. I am so glad everyone loves them. I thought about the bigger one in the same pattern but maybe that can be for Christmas. Gotta save something for me DH to buy me right ?

Good morning POPers!!!
Not as chatty as usual I see. Must mean we are all busy getting ready to leave! I have a list of stuff I should be doing, but alas, here I am!
Anyone still working on touring plans? I think I have MGM down and EPCOT. For EPCOT we are doing 1 day of FW and 1 day of WS. I hate the plans that make you jump back and forth. For the MK, I am still working and same with AK.
Regarding MNSSHP, how many rides do you usually go on while attending? I read somewhere that lines are short but it is easy to get caught up on the rides and not enjoy the rest of the stuff. Since MNSSHP ticket holders can start entering at 4pm, can we also start riding rides then? Then at 7p when the party starts, do the party stuff?
Also.... (yes I am on a roll). Has anyone gone to "Cool Dude"? It is a part of the BBB but for boys. I was thinking about doing this for Ryan for MNSSHP, but I wanted feedback!

OK, I booked the "Cool Dude" experience for Ryan. Cost is $10.00 and it lasts about 20 minutes. I say that is a bargain for WDW! I had to switch around my Planet Hollywood ADR, but they had plenty of openings after 2:15 up until about 4 if anyone is interested. This will be great for MNSSHP! I hope he enjoys it!
My travel agents has done everything for us on this trip and this is the FIRST time I have called WDW ressies myself. Wow, it was fun listening to the music in the background. Really put me in a Disney state of mind!

What in the world is the "Cool Dude" experience ?! Sounds like something Austin might like - he thinks he is a cool dude ? I have been reading. How did I miss what it was ? !

Chubby? 40 something? That will be me too, with a different bra color though! And, less the baggallini thing................. And probably no Pluto!

Well, we will all be in good company then. I am the chubby 30 smething with the bra straps showing and a purple JanSport mini backpack with a lime green mickey head attached.

You will probaby find me in the Pop food court refilling my mug or in the parks with a mickey bar or Dole Whip.
