Weekend plans---I'm moving tomorrow!!! And I'm taking DD to a birthday party. Don't have a gift yet.

Weekend plans?

Well, we start with indoor soccer at 9 AM (granddaughter is the goalie on the seven-year old team, even though she's not quite seven yet--they didn't have one). Then some last minute shopping for the trip, trying to arrange for transportation from the train station to the hotel for the wedding. A limo will cost more than the whole train trip from New Jersey! It's $111 one way (per person, of course) from Newark to Jacksonville, $148 one way for 13 miles once we get to Jax! By the way--it takes an hour longer by train from Jax to Kissimmee than it does to fly from Newark to Orlando! We don't drive, so renting a car wasn't an option.

The woman who will walk our dogs and feed our cats and fish will be coming on Sunday. She's never been to our new house, so we need to show her where we keep everything.

Of course, I still have to finish the afghan and wrap it, run to Target and buy a gift card as a gift, and get batteries for all of our assorted cameras. Maybe this time we'll even remember to bring the video camera!

When i unwrapped it, i was a little scard, b/c it was in a COACH box and i jus told him i was moving on from COACH, but he said it was the only Diaper Bag he knew i would really love since the material is GREAT for cleaning AND it was PINK! soo he got me

THEN he handed me 2 more small packages!!!

This is the matching Wristlet on the changing pad AND a cute little Key Chain in Blue (it's a photo album key chain).

THEN a gift card to get the pink one when it comes back in and either another blue or pink one for the new baby

Last night Casey's Theatre on Ice team performed at the Chicago Hounds hockey game - they did really well! It's always amazing to me when I see the final production for the first time after watching them practice for 6 months and thinking gee, they look like crud - somehow with the costumes and scenery it looks so cool. Their theme this year is Stomp, so it's weird musical thing anyway...

today, the girls & I are getting our hair cut. I'm going to try something new...instead if just coloring it...I"mgetting highlights/lowlights....so we'll see. Miss Casey I'm almost a teenager - has also convinced me to let her get highlights in her hair - just a FEW I told her. btw I have to tell you something...she'd kill me if she knew I was telling you all this.....last Monday Casey got her period for the first time! (sorry pj) EEEKKKK My BABY got her period! I am too freaking old for this much drama in my life!!!!

So, here's what I decided on a trip: IF free dining comes out, I'm going to WDW in Sept/Oct. If there's no dining, I'm going in Jan 08. I'm going to hold off on the cruise and Disneyland for another year. Here's the biggie with the cruise. Apparently Jasmine and Eeyore are NOT on the cruise....which means I'd HAVE to do the parks anyway! The girls have both said, that yes they'd like to do a cruise, but only if they still got 5 or 6 days to do all the parks - they're not willing to give one of them up...so no way I can afford THAT! with all the other trips this year....so unlike folks that don't want the freeloaders of free dining hopping on the sept train...I NEED free dining to be able to go!!!!

Hi gang,
So like i said my moms in town. Anyway tonight i went to my aunts house for dinner. My mom is leaving on monday and most likely i won't be able to see her again for some time. Anyway dinner was nice but when it was time for us to leave my mom started to cry.I really had to hold back the tears myself. She made me promise i would come up there and visit or she would meet us in disney world. Ds keep asking why was nana crying, and i told him because she will miss us alot. He ran back in my aunts house and gave her a big hug and kiss. It's times like this that i really hate my father for all the poop he put her thru, making her leave when i was younger.

I feel that she feels like she left me or abandon me, but she did'nt. I was a young 15 y/o kid and when she left i had my choice as too stay in nyc with my pop or go with her. At 15 i had many friends and a girlfriend in nyc and no 15 will leave all that, so i stayed here in nyc. I wonder what kind of life i would have if i went her, certainlly i would not be working in nyc with the FDNY. My mom lives in wisconsin, madision to be exact. Still some part of me still has anger toward my dad. She said to me tonight, that she's sad that she missed the birth of my son or going to his baseball games or just be able to watch him grow up or spend time with us as a normal grandmother gets to do. I do not blame my mom at all, i lived in that house and i know she had no choice to leave my dad praticly threw her out into the street.

As a kid they fought a lot, was i was about 10 they started living in seprate bedrooms. I would find out just a few years ago from my uncle, that my mom found condoms in my dads work coat, thats what caused her to move into the spare bedroom,but they were fighting long before that. My dad always started the fights, there was never any hitting that i saw,but my dad was verbaly abusive and very controlling of my mom. When i was 17, he found out that i skipped class for a whole month.I came home from a friends house and he began to hit me, not like a parent, but like you do in a street fight. At first i just crawled up on the floor and cried and begged him to stop. He was throwing punches at me and kicking me, them something hit me. I had a lot of pent up anger for what i had seen him do to my mom, i just jumped up and me and him began to fist fight in the living room. The fight lasted over 25 minutes and after, both of us were bloody, 2 days later i moved out.My mom really broke my heart tonight, i have never seen my mom cry before tonight.I promised her i see her very soon,one thing funny. When she went to wdw, she fell in love with wdw. I know its not that hard, so maybe we'll all go there soon. As for my dad, its weird. I see him every other month or so, he lives within walking distance of my house, but is always too busy to spend time with me or his grandson. When he has the time i'm working. He lives alone in a small apt in brooklyn. You can see it in his face that life cheated him somewhere,somehow, he's lonely,broke, depressed and getting old.It was not supposed to be like that, but it was not life, he did thiss to himself. I even offered to come over next sunday,or have him here and cook. He told me i got some things to do, every time i try to make plans with him hes busy or something.I can only try to allow my son to know his grandfather and for me to try to spend time with a man i call pop.

I hope everyone else is having a nice weekend. Not much going on here except tomorrow my friend and I are taking the kids to the zoo. So that will be nice.

So i got some sad news today,kinda.
Remember that awesome rescue progrma that starts this wwek, that i got into to?? Well it might not be happening at all now. Some 4 star chief is making complaints that the dept is losing 120 guys to this program and that will create a lot of overtime for the other men in the dept. So ofcourse over time is time and a half, unless its between the hours of 6 pm to 6 am, then it's double time plus 10%. Now mthe FDNY employees love overtime, you can easily make like a quick grand doing 16 hours of over time all between the hours of 6pm to 6am in a single week. So this chief is saying it's causing the dept to pay out more for the guys doing the overtime than the budget allows. The dept has a overtime budget,that they plan to pay to all the employees in the dept that do overtime in a year.

BTW A quick fact, can you guess the FDNY yearly budget???? I did not know it until a few years ago, are you sitting down?? Please sit down. The FDNY has a 1 billion dollar budget each year. Thats alot of disney vacations huh?? forget staying at the contempary, how about owning the contemp?? Well anyway this chief and he is a very high ranking chief, wants the FDNY to cancel this program. In light of all the extra money in overtime the dept will have to pay, for the guys in it and not at the fire houses. I will know for sure by monday,but for what i understand, the dept has no choice but to run this program. They give it every 10 years, last time in 1996 most of the guys had at least 9 years on if not more, meaning they are now at the 20 and out mark.In the FDNY you can retire after 20 years on. So soon these guys who took this program 10 years ago will start to retire and the Dept needs to refresh the ranks with my class. I will let you all know on monday what happens.
