I wanna ask you more about this - but we got a boy on our thread.... I didnt have to drink before the U/S. But ...alright, forget it. PJ CLOSE YOUR EYES - Bleeding....is this your problem? Like obnoxious, long and just too much freaking bleeding!!! Im getting nervous. Ive cancelled the alblation surgery twice... Im a wuss. Fibroids SUCK!
sorry PJ going into details now

close your eyes!
Well prior to the accident I did experience severe bleeding/menorrhagia which I thought was because am getting ready for menopause. Prior to this year it was a 28 day cycle which became a 21 day cycle. It still was normal according to books ( Yes I know I sometimes treat myself rather going to the hospital, if you work in one you would understand WHY

). Then I kept on putting off a mid year check up and my excuse was I'll do it on my regular yearly check which is around the corner. After the major accident in Nov. the severe bleeding just became heavy bleeding with no pain. My hemoglobin is and has always been between 8.o to 9.5 ( I thouhgt it was OK and a good reason not donate blood, Red Cross wants you to be atleast 12.0

). Fibroids where only diagnosed when I complained of presence of blood after the accident and thats when they found the baseball, tennis ball and a grape size Fibroids ( aahhh am not really FAT or Obese just like what my Dr always have told me.. its the Fibroids

). So now after finding this my GYN had given me 3 months to go on a low/free hormone diet and tomorrow the u/s is a follow if it got bigger. No specifics on what treatment I will be oing through. I have been reading alot about Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) less traumatic than surgical procedures such as heysterectomy or myomectomy. Hopefully I will be a good candidate for this. Granted hysterectomy is none life trating procedure it just the severe exposure to all of the germies in the hospital. UFE well also expose you to some but atleast not a major slice and dice

type of procedure

. I checked Endometrial Ablation and it is only for severe bleeders candidate, I have not seen anything related about Fibroids so I will have to ask my GYN about this. It has alot of Advantages:
Procedure takes approximately 4 minutes
Simple, 90-second treatment
Proven safe and effective1
Requires no pretreatment
Convenientcan be performed at any time during the menstrual cycle
Rapid recovery
Excellent success rate
Removes uterine lining while preserving uterus
UFE is a good 4 hour procedure... So to answer your question I am going for both.... Bleeding and Fibroid but no severe pain...
