hhhah! thanks! what makes it even better is that he thought he was such HOT STUFF! you shouldve seen what he was wearing! It was this sparkly club shirt! hahahaha!!! :lmao: i totally remember thinking to myself..HOW ON EARTH is this the guy??? HAAHAH!! And now when i look at the shirt, it makes me laugh so hard!! (he's saving it to show the kids! )

I at least got to study in Europe twice on short exchange programs, i just wanted the longer real thing :) hahaha..

I went to school for Travel and Tourism. I wanted to be a tour guide/Cruise Director! sooo nothing i could do now hahah! wellll unless i want to be a DIsney World tour guide and we move to Orlando!!!

I hear ya. I laugh at pics of DHs old hairdo. And silk shirt.

haha that's what I figure!! :lmao:

Autunm LOVEs to watch skating on sunday morning TV and she immitates the moves all the time! I was a pretty good skater back in the day, then we moved to Geneva, and i never followed up with lessons! it's been almost 18 years since i've skated! YIKES! i would probably look like a wierd-o out there!!

This makes me think of Twice upon a Christmas with the Minnie/Daisy skating competition. I love that movie.

I was bartending at a seedy bar (for those of you that know the area - in Joliet) A total hole in the wall, but I had been fired from a fancy shmancy plave I worked after 2 years for (get this) not offering fresh ground pepper to someone, for their salad!! Long story short - I needed the job, and it was a friend of a friends, bar.

And the first saturday I worked, Jimmy walked in. And I swear to god, I thought he was positively disgusting. Long hair, tattoo's, eyebrow pierced.... and I was used to always getting hit on - constantly - that I always had a serious guard up. So he was super nice to be and I was, well, rude. He says snotty, I say careful. :snooty:

Maybe a month or so later, one Sunday afternoon I had to pick up a shift for someone, and no ONE was in there. No one - but him and me. And Footloose came on, and we were like YAY! :yay: We LOVE this movie! And we started just talking more and more. I was also *ahem* seeing someone else.

So, nothing happened for MONTHS (like April to November) but he NEVER let me close by myself, he'd stay and clean (kinda like what he does at home, now! ) And we'd always go out afterwards to a bar that was open later, and he'd call me duing the week to make sure I was coming in.

One day Steve (the guy I was dating) fell asleep on me, really early on a Friday and I was off! I was annoyed, so I called Jimmy. We went out, hung out had fun, and he goes and tried to kiss me at the end of the night. I turned my head and said "uh - uh, right here (pointing to my cheek) I'm with someone" He was shrunk. :rolleyes1

Sooooo - then Mr Steve decided he wanted to play video games on Thanksgiving instead of coming with me to my girlfriends, why didnt I come over to his house and watch him and his buddy play video games? Ummm, no. I called Jim and we have been together since ....Thanksgiving 2001.

Romantic, aye? I thought he was gross.

So did he already love WDW or did you have to educate him?

Sal too, DMM.

Jim is the youngest of 9 - and if he were raised today, I think it would be considered 'neglect' bordering on abuse. His mom wasnt around - she worked like crazy and his older sisters and brothers "cared" for him. I mean, JIm is 39 - his Mom is in her 80's, so the older siblings are like my mom's age....

ANyways - he didnt lead a very fufilling happy childhood. He says it gave him character - whatever. Eating frosted flakes everyday, every meal for weeks on end doesnt build character. Being tied to a chair cuz youre older siblings are having a party in the next room, doesnt build character.

ANYWAYS - he had never been anywhere. Kings Island, one time, when he was like 8 - thats it. He never went on vacations - nothing. So WDW was an easy sell for him! :thumbsup2

Okay, here's our story if anyone wants to read.

Casey and I were both members of the University TV station. I worked in news and he was the Entertainment Director (he had an SNL type shown and an Access Hollywood type show.) One time in the staff meeting he announced he needed help taping his shows that week so I volunteered. (I'm helpful like that). Anyway, afterwards he wanted to thank me by taking me out to a movie and paying for it. So we went out, but I just thought we were hanging out, I didn't know this was his secret way of taking me out on a date. So of course I was clueless and we were just friends. We continued to hang out. Finally, as stupid college kids do, one of our mutual friends says to me..."You know, Casey really likes you." And I said ,Ew, I'd never date him, he's such a nerd!:rotfl:

So it broke his heart. I started dating this military guy who turned out to be a jerk, but he (military guy) knew just what to say to make me feel special. His name was Woody. Its on his birth certificate. Anyway, still friends with Casey I would always talk about Woody this, and Woody that.

Important side story: One of my favorite summertime pastimes with my friends back home was to hang out a local park and watch for shooting stars. Since the park closed at dusk, this also involved hiding from police who patroled the park. But anyway, the important part is the shooting stars. I talked about them all the time. I'd call Casey and be like we saw 2 tonite, we saw 5 tonite, etc.

Okay, so Casey is getting fed up with me talking about Woody and constantly rejecting him. He prays to God about me, because he was so sure I was the girl he was going to marry. He asks God for a sign. At that very time he saw a shooting star, the first he'd ever seen. So he decided not to give up on me.

The next summer I was away at an army camp and Woody and I hadn't really talked much in the prior weeks because he was in Korea, but we hadn't broken up or anything either. Casey writes me a letter, 6 pages typed! It took me like 3 nights at firewatch (where you wake up at 3 am to make sure the barracks don't catch on fire) to read it. That's when something clicked with me and him, but I was still dating Woody.

So I get back from camp and back to internet access. Woody IMs me.

Guess what?

What?

I'm getting married.

What?!

I met a girl here in Korea and we are getting married.

Okay, interesting. So Casey and I hang out, he's of course too afraid to ask me out, so finally, on Oct 1, 2000, I say to him, "Do you like me?" "Yes" "Well why don't you kiss me?" And he started giggling histerically, and then he kissed me. With tongue. I said Ew.:rotfl: It was his first kiss. Anyway, he proposed in Dec 2001, and we were married in sept 2002.

It seems like some guys don't like WDW, they just "put up with it". That is why I was wondering. DH also had never really been anywhere at all. Not in any mean sort of way. It was like he just didn't know any different. He liked his childhood, but it sounds kind of boring to me. He had never even had McDonalds til he was a teenager! Anyway, his first time at WDW was us together. It was so fun. It was the week before Christmas and so his is so sold on Christmas there. And he doesn't really protest that we take DD there alot. I would like to show DD the world. I want her to feel confident enough to know she can go anywhere and do anything. Before she was born, we visited Germany (his brother is married with kids there) and Spain, but other than that we have just seen the US.

Okay, all of you guys have totally good meeting stories and mine is so boring and sucky. :worried:

Oh it is NOT! Its pretty common - love in the workplace!

I also had a girlfriend whom lived in Indiana. She'd come up sometimes on weekends and come to work with me. Jimmy and her would mess around when she'd come up - but she'd always say to him "I dont know why you do this, you want Cathryn!" and she'd tell me "Jimmy wants YOU!" and I said - would you STOP! I am with Steve.

She doesnt talk to me anymore. :confused3

Cat, So when is your next trip after this one? Do you usually shoot for January?

DMM, What does Sal do?

We are usually Fall people - but this January trip is to test the crowd waters! Fall used to be WONDERFUL - I mean, like empty. Now it's a mess, IMO.

Im looking at January from now on. PLUS - its cooler. I hate being hot. HATE IT!

Dont'cha wanna know what Jim does?!?!?

Yes! I totally want to know what Jim does. Does he know about all of us? What does he think? DH likes it.
