Grace is working on collecting every toy catalog that comes in the mail, because she says she is going to take them to the mall to show Santa. It is too funny!

Last year we were in CA for Christmas and Grace was sooooo worried that Santa would not know where she was. We wrote a note before we left and hung it on our fireplace with Mapquest directions.

I actually moved Grace out of her daycare to the after school program at her school because I KNEW this little girl was going to tell her S wasn't real among other things. Not sure why the daycare was letting my child hang out with a 3rd grader, and that is another story, but my daughter stopped watching her favorite Disney and Sprout programs and doing some other little kid things because this girl told her that it was for babies. Broke my heart. Of course Joe mimicks Grace. UGH!

The little girl that told my DD her S story is the same age as DD but she is one of those little girls that thinks she is a teenager. It is really kind of gross. At the halloween party, the girls were princesses, etc. and that little girl was "sassy cat". I had to help her get ready and I took one look at the costume package and my jaw dropped. Totally inappropriate. BUT her mother is a high school teacher and the cheerleading coach (there in lies the influence), and she seems to promote this teenage behavior in her 6 yr old.

Your DD is 6 like mine right? That is soooo sad. I think now adays little kids lose their innocence soooo much earlier and I try so dang hard to make sure that doesn't happen with mine.

Morning all

I started my shopping - went online & bought a couple of the lego sets they wanted (sponge bob (bleech) for Grace, Statue of Liberty for Casey), and pre-ordered the 5th season of full house for Casey.

Hallmark has their open house this weekend....I think I'll go & get started.
that is of course if I can recover from my wine "tasting" tonight...how much wine is considered a "taste" ????? hahahahah

What is the fascination with Sponge Bob?? He is a sponge for gosh sakes!

Have fun at your wine tasting. I have been to a few where they can go as little as barely covering the bottom of your glass to a full glass. That's a problem, hehe.

Okay, here's my morning: Sitting on the sofa cutting out 60 (!) pilgrim vests out of paper bags (for first grade) & reviewing my packing list. I want to start packing but I also need to keep it all a secret from DD. I usually use the guest room bed for this kind of stuff. I don't know where I can do this and still hide it! 19 days!!!!!!
So, what is everyone else doing (other than lurking on the theme park boards - you know who you are )? And is it a sofa or a couch? I cannot usually decide.

Hi all,
If you remember my post about looking other places and redoing my resume. Well i am sure that my job or dept the FDNY had no idea about my intentions or my decision to leave them and move out of nyc asap, i did not tell anyone but you guys and dw. Well i got a job offer, not just any job offer a awesome job offer. Its weird how close i was to leaving. it's like they knew. So you say were, what dept what city huh.Well My job offer came thru from the city of new york ,from the FDNY themselves. I have been asked if i would be intersted in up grading my training. I have to take a test sometime in nov that the FDNY gives out,if i pass. I will be going back to the FDNY academy from march 2007/ until nov 2007. I will be trained in things that even your wildest night mare could never dream up. Also after completion of this training i will be part of the usar(urban search and rescue) team for nyc. This training is really intense and has a 50% drop out/failure rate. If i do make it i will be the e-lite of the FDNY trained in things like, Bio-logical chemical nuclear war fare. building or roof top and even mountain rescue. Hazardarous materials and a million other things thats hard to find training for. Back in the 60's and 70's lasting into the 80's the FDNY had a robo team. They were called robo after robo cop, they were the best the FDNY had to offer the higest trained in anything and when the FDNY came across a diffcult rescue or something that was thought impossible , they call in the Robo team. It was made of a ten man team, one for each boro.This was in the 70's and 80's when they had the crack wars and nyc was a war zone.The have'nt given this class since then and the team was done with and dis-mantaled in 1987. The FDNY has decided that it would be in thier best interest to put the ROBO team back together with this new age , it would be the same with more hardcore training. 10 man or women(pollitial correct )teams for each boro.From what i understand i was one of the first names mentioned for this project from my chief.

As the chief explained to me some guys spend there whole carear trying to get into these programs and never make it. The chief said he choose me and gave my name to the chief of FDNY special operations at head quaters because he knows how much i would enjoy this special training. He told me some guys got the training and were quickly offered jobs by the dept of defense and c.i.a. and f.b.i. as well as homeland security and serect service as well some others after this class have been given offers to be the dept head at other dept and citys.. Its strange that as soon as i was all ready to throw in the towel ,this comes along. So last week of nov i'm taking the test and well we will see what happens from there. To be honest i'm really excited but nervous too.

Little girld dressing like teenagers is one of my biggest pet peeves. Heck - I barely even think the way some teenage girls dress is appropriate !! Let little girl be little already. Take the hoochie out of the toddler department

Ryan still believes. I think the thought of missing out on Santas gifts has him too freaked out NOT to believe.

I need ALL of your thoughts, prayers, postive energy, whatever you want to call it. We found out yesterday my Mom has liver cancer. I am heartbroken and freaked out beyond belief. If you could please just keep her in your thoughts I would appreciate it. She goes in on the 13th for surgery to try to remove it. Terry is trying to get emergency leave so he can help out around here. Anyway.... I am trying to stay upbeat but it is so darn hard.
Hope this didn't bring anyone down, but I needed to get it off of my chest.
