Anyone hear the rumors about Space closing down for 18months in May? They want to remodel it like they did to the DL one.

Youmean Space Mountain, dont you? I wish they wouldnt do this. I like the 'old school' feel of it. I generally dont mind rehabds - but this one. Ehhhh.... I dont want them to.

Thankfully I rode it 5 times just 2 weeks ago. (salt/open wounds )

Cat, Sal feels the same way, he doesn't want it to change at all, he likes the 'old' vibe of it. I think that rumor has a lot to do with why he wanted to do this quickie trip! haah! A way for him to remember the old one just one more time.

They changed the IMB send a postcard at Epcot - you can send to more then one address too. I like them:

First day - First Park. Rainy, chillish - but better then Chicagoits so funny, you can TOTALLY see the sleepy faces we have.... so puffy!)

Then EMH were at the MK tonight, after Fantasmic...we headed over there.

And this is when I love love love *knowing* Disney. The Bus to MK was OBNOXIOUS! I thought - what about going to Epcot and zipping over to MK via Monorail...again, OBNOXIOUS! Then I looked at the Contemporary line which was about 8 people deep. Off we went.

Only problem. We were POOPED! We got there, rode HM and left.

Cat- I do'nt mind you posting those pics of space ship earth!!!

As for space mountain, i have heard rumors on this site for a few years that a rehab might happen soon, like the way at disneyland.In a way it sounds cool, but them colsing it for 18 months in may means it will be closed when i get there. One part of me wants to see the rehab, the other part of me hopes it will be open when i go.

PJ--You were at 9-11? And in the hospital for a month? Did you tell us this story before?

I really thought i told you guys the story, Ok its a long one, but here's the really short version.

On sept 11, i was off duty but soon would be racing my way to my fire house, after i heard the news and the FDNY ordered a total recall. Meaning every employee had to go to work. We had the Chiefs car, and made it there really quick.

I survived both collapses, but a few months later started to get a cough and get sick. I collapsed at home and was rushed to the emergency room, where in a few hours i had mulitble seziures and was in respitory failure.

I ended up in Intensive care for about 16 days and was in the hospital a total of 27 days. There i slipped into a coma. The FDNY and the city Said it was not work related and stopped paying me and off payroll and with that my medical insurance expired.

In the end they found out by numorous doctors that my body began to reject my lungs because of all the foregin material in them from the collapse, I was giving last right in the hospital and my wife and mom even planned my funreal. Every specialist they brought in said i would die from this. After my lungs began to fail, all my organs began to shut down from the lack of oxygen they were recieving. I was in total organ failure.

In the end i got better as quick as i got sick, the doctors called me a medical mircale. My case is even in a few medical books. As i told them, i am not a medical mircale, my body knew i had more Disney trips to attend. In the end i had to fight the city, with overwhemling proof, the case in court took no more than 45 minute for a judge to award me a full workers compensatation case award. Not much, just what i would have earned if i was able to go to work instead of being sick. Plus the city was ordered to pay all of my medical bills. Specialist after specialist took the stand and told the judge that they had no doubt, this was all from the collapse.

It also paved the way for other sick city employees to fight thier cases. In the end i am glad i went thru what i did. It taught me to be a better person and to enjoy life. It made me a much better person.

Most all of the ride is the same. The voice over is different, but all in all - I Liked it.

You could tell it was still 'soft openings' as they had a ladder sitting there, off to the side, and holes in the wall, and such.
