Can anyone please give me an idea of the type of package offered for these groups?
We are new to the AYC division, and if the team makes it to Disney, I want to be prepared.
The price will be the factor in deciding if my entire family goes down for that weekend.
I am assuming they will stay at All Stars. I have a family of 6, so I would need 2 rooms.
Hopefully if they even make it, the organization can fundraise for most of the costs.

The pricing info is always on the Pop Warner site and it usually comes out when the teams are picked; I have never seen it posted on Disney's website.

You may want to do a google to find past packages to get an idea.

They offer a value and a moderate. Mostly the value is AllStars and the moderates used to POR with POFQ overflow, but since the refurb occurred, it has been CBR.

I did a quick google and found this; scroll down about six pages or so to see the package costs for last year.

OP: Missytara found you the exact information you need (for Pop Warner). Our league does not use the All-Stars, only the Mod resort picked for that particular year - last year we had two choices in Moderate (as seen in the Pop Warner bulletin). Most of the time, it is only one moderate. so, your league may dictate where you stay and then as long as all they get all the paperwork in on time, you usually get your request. I do not know if AYC goes by the same rules. :cheer2:

Thanks, I'll check this out! I think AYC is the weekend after. So usually the entire team will stay together in one block? I would assume we will be at one of the all stars. How's airfare that time of year? I have never seen Disney at Christmas time, so I hope I'm not getting my hopes up for nothing!
Do you guys usually go as a family, or just mom/cheerleader?

They will basically take over both the value and moderate resort option.

When the 499 day for booking opens up, do a ressie for the values and moderates and the two resorts you no availability at standard and next view up with no availability, those are the resorts blocked out for PW.

I have to tell you I stay at POR every year the week after Thanksgiving almost every year since 2000. Pop Warner is arriving as I am leaving.

I have been privy to hanging out at the resort a few hours before ME whisks me away to MCO. Some of my funniest moments have been sitting on the rocking chair outside the check-in desk and seen first time families absolutely overwhelmed by the utter size of Disney. One year, the family had no idea they were even in Disney World already!

AYC cheer teams do not stay at Disney hotels, nor do packages. Only Pop Warner does. You will be directed to other orlando hotels.

So as long as they show up at competition, they are on their own for booking? So I can stay in Disney if I choose?

This site will be updated as more info for this year becomes available. The Rosen Shingle Creek 2013 AYF Nationals Host Hotel --which means that the higher ups in the organization and some teams will be staying there. This will where team check-in will be. Our teams stayed off site last year (but still in a sanctioned hotel- and we are opting to stay here this year if we earn a bid. It will make things a lot easier and worth the additional cost!)

There will be several other hotels blocked off (by team) that range from value to really nice. I think most basic rooms ranged from $99 - $190 depending on the hotel.

Airport transfers and transport to the venue are at the descretion of the team. AYC has a list of contacts which will prove invaluable to you,but book as soon as you get the bid and AYC releases the list. Practice space and team dining is also individually planned.)

Check-in is Wed and Thurs (depending on what say you are competing) and Friday night is the Cheer Party. ...another thing that is a lot of fun is the AYF/C event at Universal- which I "think" is Thursday. (The boys compete the weekend before -thru Thursday and then Cheer arrives midweek.

Our local organization switched over to AYC two years ago and said that the cost runs half of what the WDW Pop events were. They love how our championships are now being run.

and just incase you don't know...the venue is not on Disney property either! Good luck!!

also... look at flights the night before the Big East Comp in Nov...and be ready to book immediately after the bid announcements.

The airlines are onto us in Jersey. We send so many teams to Nationals that there was a decided spike in fares after the comp. It was much cheaper flying out of NY or Allentown than any NJ or Philly airports.

Hopefully the airlines haven't noticed the trend yet for the Delaware teams!

(It is kind of crazy...walk thru the halls after the awards and lots of parents are on the phone making ressies!!)
