Pop vs AoA?

I need some advice :scratchin.

I currently have a AoA LM room booked and I'm super excited. My brother and his family are booked in the Nemo Suites and the kids are thrilled :cheer2:

The Disney Visa offer just released is causing me major stress :confused3. We are going to apply (waiting on our TA) the discount to my brothers reservation and it will add QS dining for $175 more. So that's all good :thumbsup2. However, LM is excluded so I have to move resorts to get the deal. I'm thinking of moving to Pop. This will allow us to have QS dining for $25 more.

So here is where I need the advice. Is AoA worth not taking the Visa offer? I really want to stay there but I've never stayed at Pop so I have nothing to compare it against. Am I crazy to even contemplate not taking the offer and pay rack rate and then add on QS dining for the two of us? :confused3

I'm not sure how we would like not being at the same resort as the rest of our family??

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Thanks!!

i would move for the savings -- POP is awesome -- and it's a short walk across the bridge to AOA to spend time with your family.

The walk between the two resorts is really not bad, and the LM rooms are not right next to the Nemo rooms in any event. The bridge from Pop to AoA is right by the Finding Nemo buildings, so depending on which buildings in Pop you get, you could be pretty close. You can still eat together at the Flavors of Landscape Food Court or at the Pop Food Court.

We stayed in the Finding Nemo Suite and just loved AoA. However, I thought Pop looked fun too. I've never stayed there, but we did drive around the resort and found it to be pretty cool.

Also, if you are walking over to AoA for family time, you will get to explore that resort too! It all depends really on how much you wanted to sleep in the LM rooms.

We just stayed at POP in mid August. As others have said the walk across the bridge between POP and AoA is short. We walked around AoA Car's Land and thought it was very cool. AoA food court offers more interesting food choices but POP food was good also. My wife was hesitant about going to POP but now she wants to go back. I had to argue going here, but now I will have to argue someplace else next time (I like doing something different every time). We didn't get to see the rooms at AoA so I can't comment on them. The only thing I really like was the view from AoA at night. POP was much cooler at night, AoA was blah.

I just faced the same question. We were booked in the LM room but changed to POP for the free dining. I figured we could just walk across the bridge and take a look around the resort. The free dining offer swayed me a bunch

I would move to Pop. We were just there a couple weeks ago, an awesome resort and so close to AoA. The bridge is a hop, skip and a jump and you are over to AoA. For the savings, I'd change in a heartbeat. We missed out on free dining in LM rooms for our trip. We would have been there for opening day and they were included in that free dining promo. However, we did not book when we saw that and waited until the next day...rooms were gone. We stayed at Pop and walked over....very close.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I new you guys would help me decide what to do:thumbsup2

Which Pop building is closest to AoA? Is is worth requesting that building?

Thanks again!!!

I am just back from AoA and I would change to Pop. I am booked at AoA again in December, but I am going to change to Pop for AP discount and I was less than thrilled with the room noise and food court expereinces at AoA.

I would take the offer! We just stayed at AOA from 9/23-9/28 then we stayed at POP for 2 nights! The walk from the LMR to the main building compared to a preferred building at POP is such a difference! The walk from LMR to the main building is about 1/4 of a mile! Makes a difference when you are dead tired! The busing at AOA is horrible & we had trouble with the RFID locks! Stay at POP & visit AOA to take pictures & eat at their foodcourt! I thought that AOA's foodcourt is much better than POP's & not as crowded!

The end of the 60s buildings are closest to the bridge and to the other resort's food court. But they're also furthest from the parking lot if you're driving and unloading your own luggage. Request 60s with a view of the lake. Also to note that if your relatives get stuck out in building 8 at AOA, the 50s building by the lake may actually be closer to their room. It's probably best for you both to request the buildings by the bridge.
