Pop Review

Just got back from Pop. We stayed October 1-7. We had stayed at ASmovies twice before and knew what to expect from a value hotel. The line to check in was VERY long. We arrived there probably around 5:30. That is the only thing wrong with riding the magical express, everyone will be checking in when you do.

I recieved my requests, 50's lakeside, which I didnt really expect. I have never gotten my request's. Well it was kinda lakeside. We were in building three, poolside, but the last room on the end so we could look around the corner and see the lake . We were right beside the Bowling pin pool. We could hear the pool noise every morning and night. One morning they were having lifegurad trying or something at 7:00AM. There was about 20 lifeguards and they kept blowing there whistles. That was our one day to sleep late too We could hear our neighbors. Not anything real bad, but we did hear the toliets and drawers banging quite a bit.

I really like pop, but i think I like ASmovies better. It could be that we are there usually at a much less crowded time. Pop was so crowded. The food court was always crazy. The buses were never a problem though. Always there like clock work and we never had to wait over 15 minutes.

We also so a rat. I know that is no big deal, but it was horrible. These two ladies were sitting there at the hippy dippy bar sitting at one of the little tables eating and having a good time. We were walking out of the main builidng when we saw this. This rat ran right out from under the building where they give the tattoes and ran to the table where the two ladies were eating. He ran right over her feet and she didnt have any shoes on. The lady screams and scares the rat back and in the process he runs over another lady's feet that is walking back from the pool. I know this is probably common, but I would have freaked out if that rat ran on my feet.

Pop overall was good. I liked being the only resort that the buses ran to and the staff was always friendlly.

Now I know what those whistles were that one morning. We just got back from Pop last Saturday. I couldn't see out of my window. It was all fogged up, but I sure heard those early morning whistles. lol. Except it was a day to sleep in for us, too, so it wasn't very funny.

We were in building 2, 50s section, 3rd floor, facing pool, behind jukebox. I got none of my requests. It was loud for us. The echo was horrible. We could hear the music being played in our room. We could hear the fun at the pool at all hours. Even with the tv on we could hear it. It wasn't a very restful vacation, but I think if we were in a different room we would have had more sleep... maybe.

Not sure if we'll stay at Pop again, but we'd recommend it for those who want a value resort.

We must have been your neighbors!! We were on the Delta flight from NY that arrived at POP at 5:30. Check in was an F-, really bad. We waited an hour and got nothing I requested. The CM on the phone recommended building 12 or 13 for convenience. Well as I now know there IS NO building 12 or 13 even though it was clearly WRITTEN on my reservation! What does that mean? It means no one ever looked at the reservation or request!! The line to MK was also 45 minutes so day one was pretty bad. Then when we got back to the resort at 11PM NO luggage. After 15 minutes on the phone trying to get through I am told there is a delay. I asked about when would it be arriving and three times she said there is a delay but could not or would not say where the luggage was or when it was coming. I asked for a manager and she said one would call me back. He/she never did but as soon as I turned off the light at 11:30 my luggage arrived. Whew!!!!!!!
After that the stay was very good actually. We too were in the 50's area, building 2, third floor facing the pool. We were near the corner though so maybe that helped but we slept like logs, nothing kept us awake. The room was spotless and the buses after that were pretty good except the last night the 5th from Epcot. The CM also comped my daughter cabfare to get to the ticket center after she lost her cell phone. Long story but magical. Definately pixie dust from the CM at POP!
