I didn't hear much noise other than the turbo toilets from above LOL. They are LOUD!!!

And I apologize to anyone near us on the 3rd floor in 70's when my 3 year old was having a temper tantrum screaming bloody murder because I asked her to get dressed. I think everyone on the floor could hear her and she carried on for 20 minutes until mousekeeping knocked on the door to clean the room!

Oh..and just a tip...make sure you know your room number when heading back to the hotel at 11pm at night. We had a family knocking on our door, then knocking on the window. They thought it was their room...guess the jazzed up window didn't tip them off that it wasn't LOL

Best. Refurb update. Ever.

We just left on Saturday, 9/4 and Building 2 is definitely not refurbished yet. We saw a little activity with mattresses being carted around the area, but didn't investigate because we were too busy! Good thing I brought the Tinker Bell curtain and the curtain rod!!!!

I am here now. My daughter was so exhausted, we came back to POP early today and I walked the whole property-well most of it! Based on open doors and windows....

Just got back. Stayed in the 60's first floor - 4420-4421. Not refurbished yet but they were working on the second floor when we got there. They start working at 8am so if you plan to sleep in, make sure you ask to be away from this work as they are loud. Checked in Saturday at about 10 am and our rooms were ready. They worked Mon-Tue-Wed only it seems. At least that was when it was loud enough to wake us. Room location was great. Opposite side of the hippy dippy pool so it was close, but very quiet. I tried to move because of the noise and they would have put us in the opposite side of the pool on the second floor but DH was afraid we would be stuck next to noisy neighbors so we stayed put.

This is our first stay at POP and I have a few questions regarding room request. I have read that you can see the fireworks from some rooms. We have booked preferred rooms and I was wondering are any of these fireworks rooms preferred? Also, with a preferred room, is it necessary to put in a request for a certain room or not?

If you don't mind me asking, can I ask what your room number is please? We are a couple of Aussies coming to Pop next March. We are babies of the 50's so thought I would ask for rooms in the 50's section. But a room which would allow us to see the fireworks would be a true bonus. Just wondering which room numbers would be good for this.

Sadly I think we are going to be there during Spring Break (we do not have this downunder) so do you think a 4th floor would be the quietest way to go? Many thanks southaussie

Just got back to my room after a rainy night in hippy dippy pool. Building #4 - 1st floor, closed all the way around for refurbs.

Just booked my bounceback. Can't wait for 2011!!!

Wow... someone with a real family. LOL! I love it! Every child has a meltdown every once in a while, but you rarely hear about it on the boards. I am sure someone may hear my child. Even if the meltdown is about having to go home. ;-)

From the map, I don't think that any rooms in preferred are actually preferred so I would say my chances are pretty dang good! YAHOOTY!

We stayed in building 8. I loved the refurb. The carpets still had the new carpet smell. While I am really happy about the refurb, my only thought was why that for a room that holds 4 people, why do they only have 3 drawers? I thought that was weird. I liked the curtain between the beds and the vanity. It is hard to all get in the bathroom to change at the same time so the curtain was perfect for my preteen daughter who is very conscientious of her body.
As for the noise, we didn't hear anything. I just hope no one heard us either. lol

We were in bulding 4 third floor and loved the refurbed room. They were working in the floors below us.

I just walked all the way around building 4. Every single room on the 1st floor is empty and being painted. Carpets not in yet, matresses still in plastic. I took pics, will post tomorrow. I asked a worker, he said this building will be done by Friday. Planning on bldg 1, 4th floor next week.

I get embarrassed too! Especially on those busses where there isn't much you can do like a time out, etc.

On our way to the MK one morning this man handed me two pins and said "here, give these to your kids, they are so well behaved". I was in absolute shock at 1. his generousity and 2. that he was talking about MY kids I guess he caught us on a good ride!
