what's with these "top floor" people? Don't you know that the ground is so far away!!

I requested to keep my feet on the GROUND FLOOR!!

The ground is where the noise is. Also no turbo toilet noise from above.

Here, Now, (taking a rest day after 2 days at the parks)...

We are staying in the 50's section, Building 3, lake view.

They are inthe process of refurbing the 1st and 2nd floors. the top two floors are done. (Our room was so fresh when we checked in that the paint was still a touch wet!)..

They were moving furniture into the 2nd floor courtyard facing rooms this morning.

I guess building 1 and 2 are next!

According to the map someone did that's in the "Groovier Pop Century" thread, not all preferred rooms are facing the pool. There are some in the 70's that face the parking lot and are pretty close to the main building. Which is what I'm hoping to get. I put in my request when I switched to POP to be in the 70's on a top floor close to a staircase, so here's hoping I get at least one of those!

This is true. I have stayed in a preferred in 70's that was facing the parking lot, right at the bus lines.

We'll be at Pop on 8/15. I didn't know they were refurbishing. I tried looking for more info in this thread, but there are so many pages...

What buildings are finished? I always request the 70's Big Wheel (non-preferred room), but if it isn't refurbished yet I'd like to ask for one that is.

From what I gather all the buildings but the 50's are done , but appear to be getting done now. I wasn't sure on the 60's but I looked back and someone called direct to the Pop Century and the CM said those rooms were done.

Its hard to keep track of 53 pages lol

We like 60's too, also facing the pool so if my husband and daughter are at the pool or vice versa, we can get a peek of each other. Not sure about the first floor and people constantly walking by. Probably nice to not have to wait for elevators, though. We normally request the top floor and will be doing so again in 19 DAYS

Not a weido at all!!! I requested the same spot for my October trip I grew up in Queens,NY and then moved to a main road in Long Island so I just can't fall asleep without the noise!

Does anyone know how difficult it is to get adjoining rooms? We are taking Grandma with us this trip and she would be very upset if she were even one door apart from her DGD! I got a preferred room but I would give that up just so we can be next door to each other. If I gave up the preferred room do I get a discount or money back?

had a map showing the locations of all the adjoining rooms. Just request one. I'm sure they do their best to make those happen for families. Let the CM know that your preference is adjoining over preferred, but that you'd like both if possible.

And when the other posted mentioned needing the noise to sleep.. the very first thing I thought of was "what? is she from Brooklyn". I'll never forget trying to fall asleep in my grandparents 2nd bedroom in Brooklyn with all the cars going beep beep up and down the street street , the dogs barking and all the people talking.... yap yap yap..." Howieeeeeee!!! Come 'ere"!!

I think they would be done by then. By the sounds of it they only have 2 1/2buildings left to do in the 50's.

Im actually from a small town neart Ottawa, Ontario from a quiet suburb and I always found the silence unnerving hearing the house settle was just gah lol.
Then for high school i lived near an airport, by the train tracks and near a major highway and loved it hahaha... then add in 4 years of residence and loud partiers all the time (and i was on first floor facing a parking lot. And well voila can't sleep without noise. I usually sleep to tv shows no for noise as the Condo complex here in cali im at is so quiet at night its crazy

Anyway the OP could maybe put an update saying that almost all the renos are done but 1950s which are in the process so people don't have to sift through 54 pages? Or say update post blah blah for folks newer to the resort board?

That seems to be correct. There are pictures on here of some of the 60's room being done.

10 days to POP!! Could someone confirm if any of the 60's are done? I have booked preferred and have requested the 60's poolside, but I would love to know if the rooms are done. Thanks!
