POP refurbed rooms with Flat Screens! Update Page 13 **

I wish to reiterate here that as long as your request is on your reservation at least 10 days before arrival there is no need to fax.

Exactly! Save a Tree, Don't Fax! The CM told us in 2007 that they don't even look at the faxes; they toss them.

So we should just call 10 days before our arrival and reconfirm what we told them when we made the reservation (bldg requests, adjoining rooms, etc) and then we should be all set when we arrive?

If you called 2 weeks before arrival ... that would be the best time I would think.. before the reservations get downloaded to the resorts.

Just back - and had a refurbed room.
Had requested 60's poolside, our favorite area... but was given 70's refurbed, which is fine, was curious to try it out. Well, we switched rooms after one night. Convenience for us at 60's versus refurbed room, well, 60's won out for us.
Refurbed room was great - nice and clean, loved the comforters and the carpeting. Funny, we had a big dent in our wall though, like someone had punched it but their fist didn't go all the way through?!

But next day asked if something available in 60's. we just like it better there!

thought the mattresses in the refurb was nice. some said they were new and hard. I liked it! and the one bed in my room, my son broke that one in a bit with his jumping on the bed, LOL!

My thoughts exactly when I read the post about jumping on the bed :thumbsup2

Oh sometimes kids get carried away on vacation and even a well meaning parent can't stop certain behavior in time ... sometimes.

:)

It happens. I'm sure the PP didn't open the room door and say "Have at it kids!"

:)

Just curious - do you allow your son to jump on your bed at home? Hopefully, you reported the broken bed so it could be repaired for other guests. I never understand why guests allow their children to jump on beds at any resort - the room is not a playground.

Sorry, that comment really surprised me...it was the LOL that shocked me.

They said their son broke the bed IN not broke IT IE: softened the matress so im sure there was no need to report it. Actually my 2 year old is allowed to jump on our bed at home...its fun and the bed is not going to reak as its on a solid base so I let him....you are not a child for long enough! I do not let him jump on my sofa though and he knows the rules. I see little problem in a child jumping on a bed!!!

:rotfl: Me too!! :rotfl:

I know, kids will be kids.....

Just checked out on 4/31. We requested and received a refurbed room in the 70's buiding. Room 6249 facing the lake on the corner near the elevators. The room smelled like it was just painted. Everything was new. The new storage units hold more than you would think. There was plenty of room for my wife and DDs 14 and 10 to store all of there clothes. I could have fit mine in as well, but I usually just live out of the suitcase.
The new pillow-top mattresses were great.
I'll post some pics when I get home.

Also, I did not see any rooms being worked on while I was there.

With certain marital activities going on, I imagine a toddler jumping wouldn't be much worse.

:lmao:

Just to clarify my comment, honestly I understood that the bed was not broken upon re reading the post by stitch34, so for that I appoliguise on the same hand I had two boys and never let them jump on beds at home or away in fact I have been in rooms next to others with kids that had to be jumping on the beds do to the noise we heard through the walls. Excitement is one thing but jumping on a bed can be a dangerous thing for a child to do at home or away.

....and thats the society we live in today...no climbing trees, no jumping on beds...we all did it as children and how many of us got hurt? I think the thing is supervision. Listen im not condoning children jumping on hotel beds...its a bit disrespectful of things that do not belong to you but i think children should be allowed to be children sometimes. I do see a danger at home of my son jumping on my bed but I supervise him ensuring he does not get hurt.
I do understand your opinion and we each bring up our children in the way we see fit. I let my son take controlled risks because it is good for his development and self esteem. OH MY GOD i cant believe im babbling on about jumping on beds haha where has this thread gone from such a little comment haha:rotfl2:

I'm sure that dirty shoes on the bedspreads are the least of our problems.:lmao:

Hey 5boyz - Another Mom to 5 boys here with the 6th being a girl! :thumbsup2
