Pop Question

Please tell me I am going to enjoy the POP. I am not a hotel snob but we've been staying at the WL and this years trip was never supposed to be. I was able to budget the trip staying at the POP and I am thrilled to be going but I just want to know it's a fun hotel I guess. I am sure my 9yo will love it and I heard there's lots of photo ops for my scrapbooking but I feel like I am so going to miss my WL. Please tell me lots of fun things about the POP.

We've stayed there twice and will be staying there again in September. We love it. No, it's not a luxury hotel. Yes, it's kitschy and tacky but in the best way possible. It will be very different from the WL.

Positives:
Friendly staff
lots of that Disney Magic
decent bus service (I've heard complaints about this but we've never had a problem)
fun fun fun pools and icons
bustling and lively
Mickey soaps and shampoos, unlike the All-Stars
very quiet on the back side of the resort facing the lake
red velvet cake, yum!
bus stops are close at AK and MGM

Negatives:
can be loud if you're right near the pool
food at the food court is hit or miss
bus stops are far away at MK and Epcot
rooms are small but still quite new
tons of kids if you don't like kids

We stayed this past Oct 2004 and will be staying again this Oct, there is not one thing wrong with staying at POP

Also last May we stayed at the CR and i was NOT disappointed with POP, I think the best thing about POP is the bus's POP does not share with any other resort so even though MK is the farest away the bus will go staight there. and also when one bus is full and you have to wait on the second your wait is not long.

OH MY! I'm going to POP on Monday and I LOVE red velvet cake! Now I'm even more excited.

Weve done WL and Pop.

We did Pop on our last stay. Our previous stay was WL. Yes, it is kitchsy, and some may say tacky.. but I don't.

Our kids had no idea they were even going to Disney. We just sort of pulled up to the hotel and whipped out tickets... (they thought they were going to Universal)

They had a great time. They liked the Frozen coke at the food court, the food was pretty tasty. The chicken parm was good, the tiramisu dessert was great as well.

We were in the 80-90s section which in retrospect was pretty far from the food court. We were also on the 3rd floor, so that was pretty long hike. So, don't request 80 or 90s. Our section was pretty quiet, and was close to the laptop pool.

We previously stayed in Sports, so this is nicer than that if that helps.
