checked into Pop yesterday. Room floor was sopping wet, as in oozing water, with black yuck under sink area. Called front desk and was told engineering would be up. Four hours later no one showed up. Called again. They switched out room. Room had food left in fridge from
Previous guest. Bracelets no longer allow charging and won't connect to our fast passes. Nice to figure that out after you're in a park. Please tell me this isn't typical. We are on our way back to Pop on bus. Have to get Magic Bands fixed and desperately want to leave this hotel. Considering checking out early and booking a different resort. Anyone ever do that?

At Pop now and have not a single issue. No, not typical. Are you in 70s, by chance? I hear construction and I know water was shut off there yesterday for a bit...

If you are unhappy go to the front desk at Pop and tell them you want to switch. They will help you.

A word of advice: At any Disney resort calling what is marked as the Front Desk routes you to a call center. If you have any more problems, go down to the front desk. Don't call.

It is neither typical, but unfortunately, it is neither completely unheard of. We had an eerily similar trip at the BCV once where we got a busted up room (complete with sopping wet carpet) and then a trip to guest services pretty much every day of our vacation to fix room access issues, charging issues, etc. This was in 2014. Hopefully the incidents are becoming more isolated, but they should be more or less obsolete by now.

The problem with FPs shouldn't have anything to do with switching rooms. Go down to the front desk and they should be able to fix your charging to your MB, I've had it happen even when not moving rooms. Which is why I don't even attempt it any more, I just carry a CC and an ID to parks, there have been problems with the MB machines charging so it just works better for me. I've stayed at Pop and while I'm not a fan of the value resorts I think you just had bad luck.

Sorry that things haven't worked out very well for you. It is disappointing when on vacation and everything seems to go wrong. Unfortunately, we have experienced similar scenarios at multiple resorts. Sometimes things just don't go smoothly. We have had MB problems in particular fairly often.

The MB issue has nothing specifically to do with POP. It happens at all the resorts. In our experience, we rarely have MB's that all work 100% properly. The WORST was at the GF RPC! They never did manage to get the MB's working! We have literally spent hours waiting for someone to fix various issues with MB's. It is part of why I am not fond of them. They rarely work for us. Another reason is the awkward way you have to bend your wrist to unlock the room door.

We still use the AP cards, KTTW cards (ask for them as back up at check in) and our CC. Works great! We use the MB's when they are working for whatever they happen to work for. If they are too glitchy we don't bother with MB's at all.

OP: Hope that the rest of your trip has better luck!

If you want to move resorts, ask at the front desk at POP. They will check and let you know which resort may have availability and set you up for the move. We have done this a few times. It is fine as long as there is a room available at a resort that you want.

Good luck!

This is NOT typical. I have to imagine that when you swapped rooms they forgot to properly activate your bands. It's a pain in the neck, but hopefully the rectify it soon. If you switch again, you might have the same problem with the bands, I personally wouldn't waste my precious vacation time switching again.

I would go to the front desk and ask to speak with a manager. This is totally unacceptable about room conditions. Pop has dropped the ball big time.

We checked into a room at another resort, POR and room was dirty. Papers and water bottles in room, hair elastics on floor, hair in bathroom, yuck. I informed front desk of the issue. They said they'd send someone to clean. I told them I didn't want to wait around for someone to clean. I was tired after travelling and hours in the park. So they gave me another room. 5 min after we were in new room the duty manager (I never asked) was knocking on my door to tell me he went into old room to inspect and appologized profusely. He found out mouse keeping only did a clean for returning guest, not a new guest. That meant sheets wouldn't have been changed and not a thorough clean, yuck. So glad I asked for new room. POR guest service was fantastic. They went above and beyond making sure guests were satisfied.
Doesn't sound like Pop cares. I'd bring it to managers attention.

This isn't typical of a Pop experience. I would go down and speak with the manager directly about the situation. Hopefully after doing do so it will be rectified and you can get on with your vacation.

Happy to report the front desk was very helpful and kind. Hoping all is resolved today and it was just a rough start.

This! When you use your Magic Band to enter a park, the touch post is on your side. But when you use your Magic Band to enter your room, the touch thing is directly in front of you (because we always face a door when we unlock it). Same thing if you are staying Club Level and have to touch your Magic Band to a thing near the elevator buttons - we always face the elevator buttons as we press them.

I thought I was the only person annoyed by this.

I just wear mine upside down on my arm with Mickey facing down and don't have to bend my arm weird. I only use mine for FP, getting into the parks and my room. Stopped trying to charge to it from the very beginning.
