Pop, pop, pop!!!!

If you want to splurge a bit on a bigger bed, may I suggest buying a Coleman Queen Sized Air Bed. $24.54 @ Walmart (plus pump cost). I bought two of those for guests staying at my place during the winter Olympics. They were superior quality -- not only comfortable, but very leak resistant -- they never needed pumping up during the entire two-week period. (Prior to that, I've never had an air mattress that didn't require more air every day.)

Think about it -- you and Kevin in queen sized comfort, and the girls each get their own double bed.

Good luck and enjoy the rest of your vacation. I'm taking notes from your posts so that I know what to request when we show up at Pop in October.

Loving the report T. It is really representative of what any family can go through on vacation, ie bad beds, leaving stuff in the old room... things that are just not magical.

Can't wait to get back after the new baby is born. Guess I should go update my ticker now.

I don't think there is enough floor space in Pop Century for the air mattresses.

Best bet is to get so tired out in the parks that you could sleep on rocks!

There's only room for a twin sized air mattress. I brought one and slept on it. So not comfy. We moved the table and chairs to in front of the window so i could put mattress over where table and chairs were. There's a cold air return there and I FROZE.

Lovin your updates, T. Hilarious!

DD and I were already an hour out of chicago, driving to detroit, when i remembered i'd left our passports and airline tickets in the hotel room safe in downtown chicago....(back in the day of paper airline tickets)..

i turned around and headed back while DD called the hotel to notify them of my mistake...

i was soooooooooo upset with myself for doing that....

thankfully, it was all still in the safe when we got there - housekeeping was in the room getting it ready for the next guests.....

since then i check the safe about a thousand times before we leave a room...
even when i don't store anything there during our visit

Loving your updates Teresa - hilarious as always!

I was considering a first trip to Pop for free dining in February (we usually do DVC) but your comments about the beds have me thinking moderate may be the way to go!

Hi Teresa!
I just wanted to pop in and say hi to let you know I've been reading all of the updates and enjoying your adventures. I feel bad for Stella and the kids meals, we've had those same tears, I really wish Disney would step it up in that area. Glad you experienced some new things at AK. I hope as I type this you guys are enjoying a wonderful day at Epcot. Can't wait to read more! (congrats on your spending so far by the way, you are doing GREAT!:thumbsup2)

Hey Teresa! The meet was so much fun yesterday! I'm so glad you got your room switched... but still no flatscreen? LOL what's that about??

How did you do at the park today? Since we were so tired from our long travel yesterday we slept in today and had breakfast in our villa. Took the boat from WL to MK, rode the train (since we had never done it), walked up Main Street and decided to go back to the lodge to swim. We NEVER leave bc it's too hot, but today it was brutal!

We just got all dressed again and we're heading to Germany for some bratwurst sandwiches!!!

Lovin' the reports so far, but....

Wow.

Four in a value resort room, August heat and construction on the floor above ???

Bless you, darlin', that's more than I could do...

Something tells me you'll have some good times anyway... I sure hope so ! :wizard:

Enjoying your reports as well. We will be coming to POP in mid-september and requested the 60's. Any word when the construction will be finished?

Keep havin' FUN!!

Tuesday night is coming to a close and I have been struggling to get on the internet for 2 hours. I have an At&t air card, I love it and usually do not have a problem. But for some reason tonight the reception is crappy. Our phones only have 2 bars tonight too. So I will Stay on as long as I can and hope I get everything I need to say typed.

Epcot didn't happen today and I am ok with that. Kelvin spent the morning at Animal Kingdom with Walter. They had a great time, just the 2 brothers among the Animals and plants. The girls and I spent the morning hanging out at the resort. We had lunch in the food court. The food here is decent. I had a turkey sandwich with chips, Stella had a tiny pizza and Grace had her usual Chicken nuggets and fries. I also has the hummus as a snack today. really good!! Kelvin arrived back at the resort via Disney bus just as we were finishing our lunch. We did alittle shopping in the Everything POP store. We all got Disney t shirts... This is a first for me. Really reasonable. With my passholder discount ( I remembered to ask if they gave discounts and I got 10% off) I bought 4 shirts for a total of $55.40. Stella and I got Pink, Kelvin Blue and Grace Green.

Stella took a swim this afternoon in the big pool. Grace took a nap and made an attempt to download Criminal minds on her laptop. She got all but the last 11 minutes before the internet crashed. When we tried tonight to find it on itunes it was gone along with her $2.99.

Dinner tonight was at YSH. Kelvin and I really enjoyed it. Grace had Chicken and fries, Stella the same. I have decided that the dining plan is not worth it for the kids. maybe some kids, but not my girls. They are just not eating enough to make it pay. But it's all or nothing right? everyone has to either have dining or not. Right? Now if the intern were here, we would be out of credits by now!!!! I thought about the boy briefly during dinner as I ate my steak. From the text messages I have been recieving from him this week he is surviving on cake, pasta, chicken and If I know Max ( and I think I do) Taco Bell.

Grace tried her best to talk us into the Magic Kingdom after dinner, but alas, we adults ate too much and were in need of alittle down time.

We has a nice evening hanging and chillin. We Headed over to the resort Arcade to redeem our 100 play points that came with our package. Unless I was doing something wrong ( And I very well could have been) When I scanned the voucher it asked for a credit card or cash to get the points. So I stuck a $10 in and ended up with a little card with 600 points loaded on it.

Lucky for me, there wasn't anyone in there who knew me to laugh at my basketball shooting skills. I was a decent shot in High School.... what the crap happened. I thought it would be like riding a bike....... The stupid balls were flying everywhere but in the hoop.

After a short time we had aquired just over 200 tickets. For my $10 we walked out with a hacki sac ball, A tiny vile of sticky pink crap, a lovely pink ring and an alien with a parachute. Time well spent, money wasted.

We are settled into our nightly routine now and bedtime tonight was hassle free.

I was thinking to day about staying in this small room with Kelvin and the girls and I have decided that everything is cool...... We are together , we are ok, and we are having fun. I spoke to my mother today and she gave me the " when I was young story" You know the one, We all slept in one room, in one bed, with no heat, no air conditioner, we shared a pillow, We never had vacations, the potty was out back...... but we were together and we were happy. Basically she was saying... " What are you complaining about? Poor thing you're at Disney......

POP was absolutely crammed with happy people today, everyone doing their own thing, The contruction crew even looked happy when I saw them on their lunch break...

Good Times..........

T.:)

P.S. Todays totals : Table service credits, 8. Counter service, 4. Snack credit, 1.

Money spent: Arcade:$10, Dinner and tip, $50 ( I had a few drinks). Shopping $52.40. Grand total: $112.40

Love your reports Teresa!!:surfweb: I can't wait we are staying a POP our first time in January! I hope you make it to Epcot, my favorite, tomorrow!! :wizard: Keep up the great work! :thumbsup2

Really enjoying the trip report , T :goodvibes

Glad you guys are having fun. I can't wait to get back to WDW :cheer2:

This is what a Disney vacation SHOULD be all about, Teresa: doing what you want when you want to and having fun. Who cares if you don't ride everything? Who cares if you suddenly change an ADR? It's all about enjoying every second as much as you can. Pressure and schedules can't help you do that. I am so glad you guys did what YOU wanted to do today. :)

I'm glad you guys aren't trying to do "commando touring". The older I get and the more frequently we go to Disney, the slower we are. Yes - I realize the girls aren't to commando age yet, but still. We take our time noticing things and having fun.

I think Nikki finally figured the beauty of that out, after I beat it into her head about Disneyland. Then after hanging with us for 2 whole days, it brought it home!

T.---great reporting.

I'm being good so far in our next trip planning. We are doing less comando since we are going to be property for a week (may bookend that week a day or 2 with on-site). We are driving down (Diet Dr. Pepper would be stocked at the condo). We are doing only a couple sit down meals, but on my birthday---no cooking planned for me.

Glad to hear despite not sticking with the plans you had a good day! Sounds like everyone got to do what they wanted :thumbsup2
