This might sound strange, but can kids wear the inflatable floaties in the pool at POP? We were at our local community pool, and the life guard said that my daughter couldn't wear the inflatable floaties because they weren't coast guard approved. :confused3 I understand they aren't a life saving device, but really? Hoping that we can use them at the pools. TIA

We've seen arm floaties being used the last 2 years by young kids. They even have noodles in the pools. but the pools aren't deep in some sections. Pop has pools meant for little kids where they don't need them!:surfweb:

We've taken floatie rings and water wings to the Pop in the past. Last month, while at the Poly the life guard told us it would be fine to send our DD down the Volcano slide wearing the water wings we brought so I think the official policy must not restrict that type of thing.

I used to lifeguard in college and my experience with the arm floaties is not good. When the child goes underwater, they sometimes slide up the arms so the hands are above water and not much else:scared1:

I could believe that. We still caught her at the bottom. On a related note for safety, the Pop pools do have life jackets available for kids too.

I wanted to add that all of the Disney pools have nice life vests available on the pool deck. I lived at the pool this summer with two non-swimmers and it's so stressful!

I wouldn't even pack the floaties, I'd just do the life vests.

Have fun!
