We are staying the week before Easter. I had made reservations for a nearby offsite suite and got a really good deal. A few days ago I broke down and made reservations for 2 rooms at POP. Not sure which one to keep. There are 4 of us plus my mom is coming. I am leaning toward POP b/c I like Disney magic, but I feel guilty about passing up my great rate off site. We would also rent a car offsite( got another great deal on that) but would not rent a car if staying on site. Is it better to stay on site at easter time even though we would not use EMH ( we cannot be there by 7AM, perhaps by 8 and our kids can't stay up late enough to utilize the evening EMH)? Are the buses so bad it would be better to have our own car and stay offsite?:confused3

With my mom coming along we would have to choose POP. She gets tired or bored before the rest of us and likes to go back to the resort, so we would need the disney transportation so that she could come and go as she chose. Has your mom traveled with your family before? Do you know for a fact that she will want to stay in the parks as much as you? I just wanted to give you something else to think about. If everyone will want to stay together(we were very surprised the first time my mom didn't want to), then that is a tough choice to make. Good luck!!

I'd weigh the costs of everything. If you rent a car and stay off-site, does the cost to rent the car and pay for parking at the parks offset the great rate you got?

I stayed at Pop last month on a solo trip, and I was really pleasantly surprised. I love it there, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Here's what I would consider:

How far off site the other place is?
How nice are the off site accomodations?
How much time do you spend in the room?
Does it bother you much to sit in traffic and walk from the parking lot?
Would you use the evening EMH?
Would you be able to cook off-site or even want to?

Two rooms at POP will be enough room for your group, but you won't be able to cook and spread out. If you are going to spend most of the time in the parks, I'd go with POP.

Traffic will be awful, but if you aren't too far from WDW and traffic doesn't bother go for a nice, off-site resort.

I think it is a good point about your mom - would give her the flexibility to go back to the resort if she has enough of the parks - or to meet up with you later, etc.

Going to Pop means eating out rather than cooking - that is a big deal for some folks.

I'm booked at Pop over Easter. We are driving down and will have a car - but DH is planning to go to a lot of spring training bball games off-site so that gives me the flexibility of staying at the resort and doing the parks - to come and go when I please with our younger son.

Another thing to think about is that the parks stay open late...sometimes very late..during the Easter break. The MK opens early even for non-resort guests on some days.
