We're not big fans of the value resorts...but with the free dining special, we couldn't resist an unplanned trip over the Labor Day weekend. We booked 5 nights with a 1 day base pass (have APs) and free dining at Pop. The only value we've stayed at is All-Star Movies with the free Kellogg Kash certificates.

DS really loved AsMo (big Buzz Lightyear fan) but DH and I just thought it was okay. It seems run down and the buses seem to take forever to get anywhere. We've never even visited Pop but have heard good things about it in terms of "newness" and transportation options. Any opinions on whether Pop or AsMo is better for us?

Thanks!

If you didn't care for ASMo the first time, you probably wouldn't feel any different about it this time. They really haven't done any rehabs recently. I would stick with POP.

I too picked POP because I have heard good things also. But the others might be just as good. I really hate to comment since I offically haven't stayed in either yet.
In the past I have stayed at the Deluxe resorts but when this free meal deal came out, I thought to myself: Why not try a value resort becasue if I like it- great I can continue to save money and if we don't end up caring for it then so what at least I didn't spend that much on this trip and got free meals!

I haven't been yet but I will be at POP one week from today and I can't wait. I already know it is going to be crowded. I know it is going to rain. But I also know that I am not going to let anything ruin my vacation. I know that people have reported that POP has loud toilets and there usually is a lot of kids running around. That's ok. You are at Disney!! It is supposed to be all of that (except maybe the toilets). But I would stay at POP.

Leaving in 6 days

We just got back from a 8 day stay at POP and I liked it better than our stay at Movies last year. I was in the 60's section facing the lake and could see the fireworks every night from my window. They also installed hair dryers in the rooms yesterday.

I couldnt get Movies - so I booked POP.
Not worried because we tend to have fun everywhere we go.
Looking foward to getting my 'Groove' on :)

Going to get a taste of Beach Club next month, and then we go to the Celebration Hotel... I understand it will be the opposite of POP :) The dining plan trip will be so I can visit my CP kid on her Birthday. Next month she isnt going with us - will be wierd to go on vacation without her. She doesnt want to go since she will be down there for the next 5 months working.

I told her I would be down for XMAS and that I AM dreading. I am not a super-crowd person. Everyone I know that has gone during the holidays came back hating disney.

I love POP! My friend and I were bumped from the All Stars because (although we paid for a room) somehow there weren't any there available for us! I would suggest trying POP because it's the newest resort, as well! :)

We have booked the passholder rate of $59 for our Sept. trip but this dining thing may be the way to go. could someone give me a explanation. So basically since we have our AP passes already we can book the dining special and only pay for 1 ticket and then get free dining everyday sounds awesome. I wonder if you dont use that 1 day ticket you can save it or give to someone else.
