Pop for one night.....

...I'm thinking it will be fun(?) we have a night before our ddp package starts,so to save a bit of $$ (100) I booked a room at Pop. We stayed here for a night years ago, but I can't recall much about it. I think We'll use the pool, food court,and get a chance to walk over and visit AOA....also a good day to visit DTD.....what do you all think?
I like saving the money....and it IS Disney..... reassure me please!

We are doing the same thing - except I have 3 days before our DDP package starts so we are staying at Pop for the weekend and then moving to Wilderness Lodge - all for Christmas!!!

I frequently book a value for our arrival night. Why spend $300 on a deluxe when you can spend $80 on a day in which you generally just spend getting organized. Disney will move your luggage for you, so you can jump right into a park the next day as you change resorts.

We have done this and are doing it again in May. My kids love Pop best (and we have stayed at all levels of resort)and we plan to do what you are doing - swim, check out AoA, have a relaxing dinner. I am almost as excited about that as our package week!

We always stay at Pop the night before a package starts if our flights are arriving later in the day. I think it makes perfect sense! Normally I get up early and catch a bus or a taxi over to the hotel so I can check-in, get our package started, tickets, dining, etc, and then come back and "HOPEFULLY" dh has the kids up, dressed, and ready to roll. We leave our luggage and just hit the parks until later in the afternoon when the room is ready. We've never had an issue.

If you need reassurance, okay, here it is POP is a full of energy, with great theming and is a lot of fun!! For a one night stay or 7, it will always deliver those things.

Each resort is unique and you will get out of each what you want to Strolling down memory lane, some pool time, checking out the grounds (and lobby) and a little DTD, sounds like a good plan. And a bonus.... a chance to visit AoA across the bridge

We are going to stay a night at a value before moving over to AKV the next day. We aren't getting in until around 7 pm, why would I pay a whole day just to sleep there? We will need two rooms at a value, but still cheaper than one night in the 2 bedroom.
