Hello everyone,

Long time lurker - finally decided to register. :goodvibes

Anyway, my wife and I are staying at Pop Century from 8/18 - 8/25 this year. I know this is not a peak Disney season, but can anyone provide feedback on resort and park crowds during this time? I'm hoping it's not packed.

Thanks!

We have stayed there during that time of year before. It should be fine. The Florida kids are back in school as of Aug 20th (I think). Park levels shouldn't be too bad since you won't have many "local" people during the week since the kids are back in school.
As far as Pop goes, request a room in the back of the resort where it is quiet. We had a room that faced a court yard and the music starts playing at 7am! That always woke me up. A lakeview room is a lot nicer if you want a quiet area. Have fun!

Welcome!

A lot of schools don't start until after Labor Day, so it will still be busy down there. But the crowds should start to thin out gradually as each day passes.

It will still be hotter than you know where and it will rain every afternoon for at least 30 minutes simply because that humidity has to go somewhere.

Definitely request "lake view" at Pop to help cut down on the noise.

Thanks for the feedback - definitely going to take the lake view suggestion. We're going to try early afternoon breaks this trip, so I'm hoping we'll miss the rain and the worst part of the heat each day.

jamessmith119, :welcome: to the DISboards  I stayed at Pop the end of last August and requested and got a lake view room on the top floor in building 3 and it was totally quiet :yay: I could look out my door and see the Epcot fireworks and the top of the Tower of Terror :woohoo: Definitely plan on doing rope drop each day, go back to Pop to cool off and then head out to the parks again at night :dance3: Hope your trip is very magical :tinker:
