My DD saw the stack of suitcases in the basement and said "ooooo suitcases! I wanna go!" I lied and said that we are going to a craft show and the suitcases don't belong to us. We are storing them for grandma. She is so psyched for the craft show though. I can't wait to see their reaction! Both my girls keep asking where their princess shirts went... hope they're not on to me...

Thankfully my closet is big enough to store all our suitcases. I lock the bathroom door and pack in secret!

Yesterday my 6 year old was really rude to me. My husband got so mad at her and said "you don't even know all the things Mommy does for you". I had to stop myself from laughing!

Sounds like a great "learning opportunity" to me. As you're walking down Main Street towards the castle, turn to your 6 year old and remind him/her how lucky he/she is to be there after the way he/she just treated you.

My teenager is learning to drive so I find myself looking for EVERY opportunity for a "learning lesson" these days LOL

I had to laugh because our DD (4.5) has no idea that we're leaving for Disney on the 19th (this will be her first trip). She was being rather rude to me last night and my DH said the exact same thing to her....mommy does so many nice things for you, some that you don't even know about.

I still haven't figured out exactly how we are going to tell her, maybe wait till we get to the airport or have her receive an "Invite to Disney" in the "mail" next Saturday and say, wow we should leave..............RIGHT NOW. I'm not getting my hopes up that she will go off the wall bonkers when she finds out because she's never been. When they are this age, you just never know what their reaction is going to be in different situations.

I LOVE surprise trips!!! This was the very first one I did...I did a scavenger hunt each clue led them to a box with disney scrabble tiles with each word...they then had to unscramble the word...



and surprised them with a "weekend trip" to Universal Studios...this was my then 12y/o and 8y/o reaction...



then before we "left" I said hey lets have dinner at T-Rex in Downtown Disney before we head home. I then asked my daughter to take my little one to the bathroom(which she did but grumbled about it the entire time lol) while they were gone I left the final clue on the table...it read "Universal Studios was really neat, now for more fun look under your seat" Under their seats was a box I taped while they were in the bathroom...my dd reading her paper

seriously LOVED every second of this and soooo glad I got their reactions on camera. OK sorry to hijack the thread just read about your surprise trip and wanted to post that it is SOOOOO worth it

I'm gonna tell them we are going on vacation and clues to where are in the bags, then video the whole thing. Surprise! We are going to Disney World right now!

I love it! We are surprising our 3 girls in 38 days! They are 8, 6, and almost 2. I have a little goody bag for each of them and I wrote this poem for them to read when we wake them up at 2:30am to leave. lol

I know it's bright and early but I promise you'll want to hurry
Today is not the day you think, keep reading to find more clues written in ink
We haven't been in years and we've really missed seeing those ears
For months we have been planning and today your wishes we are granting
No need to fuss cause magic and fun await us
So grab your bags and do a twirl because we are on our way to DISNEY WORLD!

I surprised my daughter when she was 10. We had spent a lot of time daydreaming and talking about Disney, where we would stay, what we would do, etc. "someday".

One morning I woke her up for school and said, "let's go to Disney tomorrow!" and she freaked! (She's a planner too so I didn't want to drop the bomb as we were leaving, I wanted her to be able to pack the things she wanted). I didn't get it on camera, but it was still priceless and it's actually by far the best trip we ever took to Disney.

It was so funny because I had to keep "stealing" my 12y/o's clothes to pack and she kept asking me where her clothes were and every time I would be like...idk check your floor or maybe you left them at your friends house lol by far the BEST disney trip we ever took, and I will remember it forever!

- In response to the poster who said you will be notified 60 days out, it seems like that's what will happen eventually but right now they are still in trial mode. I'm 52 days out, staying at POP and to date I have NOT received email about magic bands or pre registering for fast passes. I was told I might not get them at all, I just have to wait and check back from time to time.... I'm hoping to get them because it will be easier for us to use the bands.

We are 2 adults with 5 kids...so we had to book 2 rooms...we requested adjoining rooms since we are one family unit, but they can't guarantee it....this is causing me stress. Anyone have experience with this? Did you have trouble getting adjoining rooms?

I'm 52 days out, staying at POP and to date I have NOT received email about magic bands or pre registering for fast passes. I was told I might not get them at all, I just have to wait and check back from time to time.... I'm hoping to get them because it will be easier for us to use the bands.

We are 2 adults with 5 kids...so we had to book 2 rooms...we requested adjoining rooms since we are one family unit, but they can't guarantee it....this is causing me stress. Anyone have experience with this? Did you have trouble getting adjoining rooms?

The only way I knew to customize my magic bands was through here and when I logged into my account a box popped up to customize. I never received an email or snail mail invite.

You should change your request to connecting rooms. Adjoining rooms might get you rooms that are just next to each other.

We just got back from our stay at POP. We loved it! We had to ask to be placed in the building we preferred, but was accommodated with Building 5 semi lake view top floor as requested. Some may know this...but the curtain that separates the vanity/bathroom area from the room was a great bonus! I was able to get up and ready before the kids, and get our park stuff together while they slept All enjoy!
