It looks like she is going in a little over 3 weeks, so well within the 45 day period. The reservation should note whether it is a room only or a package.

Erin, can you let us know how your ressie is described in official Disney-speak? That might help.

Online, it says "Magic Your Way Package," tickets selected 1 Day Park Hopper.

Another question -- under the ME info, it has my correct flight numbers, but gives the time as 12 am (both arriving and departing). Is this normal? I'm actually arriving at 6:15 pm. I've done ME before, but I don't remember ever looking at it online!

DH is insisting that I go -- everything except the ticket is paid for (we were planning to go as a family next spring, so I was going to buy an AP -- now, I'll most likely just upgrade to a 4-day ticket). I'm doing a temp job that is paying for the whole thing, so this is unexpected, unbudgeted money -- which was fine, while he had expected, budgeted money coming in!

The cribs are pack n plays. We were there in March and our 2 year old dd stayed in it. It's not very padded it does have new sheets everyday like our beds. (Disney themed in ours:) but we brought her a pillow and extra fluffy blankets! Hope this helps:)

I believe at this point it would be $100 to cancel and between 1-5 days of check in, it will be $200 to cancel.

Yes that is normal. As long as the dates and flight numbers are correct you're good.

I'll second what PrincessSuzanne and EpcotBill said on the first two points.

On your DH's point, only you and your DH know what your financial/emotional/etc. position is and what you can do. If everything is paid for though, I'd go and take a wonderful mental vacation at WDW. I wish your DH luck in the job hunt!

Well, there's a snag in the plans... DH told me on Saturday that he had been let go from his job. He's been in and out of work over the past several years, and started this job last June. In January, he got a HUGE promotion and even bigger raise, and that's why we felt it would be ok for me to take this trip in 3-1/2 weeks. He feels that he'll be able to get a job quickly (he had an inkling it was coming, and had been making contacts), and since everything except my ticket is paid for (I was planning to buy an AP), he insists that I go. But I'm not sure I'm comfortable with this. How far out can I get a total refund? (I'm actually hoping I'm too close to my check-in date to do this... :lmao:) The airfare was really low, so if I have to lose part or all of this, I won't be too upset. Odds are that I'll still go (I've had a really bad couple of years, and need a vacation), but I'll feel better if I have an option to back out if I get too nervous.

First, I'm very sorry for our DH's job loss. I do hope those contacts/leads pan out for the both of you in the near future.:)

As others have noted, you will incurr a penalty fee of $200 as you have booked a MYW package and are within your 45 day window.

As you DH wants you to go, and your temp job have covered your costs for the trip, perhaps this is the sign that you should go. Next spring is year away, and hopefully your family finances will be stable at that time and you all will be able to enjoy Disney as a family. :goodvibes

My fellow Pop Peeps, I have a quick question I'm hoping somebody will be able to answer. Right now, we are staying during FD and I have upgraded to the regular dining plan. We are split half and half as to upgrading, half just want the QS and the other half want the regular dining plan. If I call and downgrade us back to the QS and my family changes their mind, can I call back at a later date and upgrade it back to the regular dining plan? Also, does anybody know when the absolute deadline is for me to upgrade us back up if we want to? I thought I ready it was 3 days out, but I'm not sure. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

IS IT AUGUST YET?

Yes, you can downgrade then upgrade again if you change your mind. I know you can ADD the dining plan up to 3 days out, but not sure if there is a deadline to upgrade. There may be some fee if this is done past your 45 days. One time, I wanted to do something with my dining plan and they were going to charge me a $15 fee, I was about a week out.

Hi all, can anyone tell me what the cribs are like at pop or does anyon ehave a photo? Are they very comfy or do I need to use extra bedding? Our ds will be just over 1yr old. thanks in advance!:thumbsup2

They are normal pack-n-plays but they are a little shorter than my Graco. We usually bring blankets for it. Another thing we do is bring a larger lightweight blanket to put over the top. It block the light and the air conditioning while allowing plenty of fresh air form the sides.

We are on the QSDP for the 3rd year in a row. I thought about upgrading the plan but it works out to be cheaper if we just pay OP for 4 or 5 Ts We are only doing 2 OP meals one being a character meal and the other rainforest. We like the freedom of not being tied down everyday to where we need to be. We also do 3 days or so at the WP so it is just a hassle to have to rush back to get ready for dinner. But you can switch back if need be.

Have you done the math? Don't forget to add the tips you would spend in the total amount you are saving. We use our extra cs meals that we have from paying op for a couple of meals. We figure by not upgrading we are saving around 550.00 and will spend around 200.00 of that on a couple of meals maybe less since I have some Landry's rewards for Rainfores or T-rex.

Stacy, as PrincessSuzanne has stated you can upgrade (or add) a DP plan to a package up to 3 days before the day of arrival.

If you are not sure which DP you definitely want, it would be wise to have the QS reflected on your package at or before the 45 day mark, because, as you are aware, any changes to a Disney package less than 45 days out from arrival can incurr a fee. However, Disney usually waives such charges if the total $$ of the package increases. :goodvibes

AGREED...POP DEF HAS EXCELLENT BUS SERVICE...BUT for arguement's sake, isn't POP a wee more expensive than the 3 All Stars? lol:rotfl2: I crack me up!! We are the GoGoGo family from very early til very late.....that last run for the buses makes me feel like I won a marathon! heehee

Yes, just a tad bit more ($5) but hey our tax is 12.5%, Allstars is 13% :) ... but we have more to offer!! (BTW, totally impartial here! :upsidedow)

I did not see it in the thread, but has anyone else noticed that POP is no longer being discounted at the same rate as the All Stars.
The GP discount in Aug. for All Star Resorts is 15% and Pop is 5%.
I just checked on the newly released AP discounts and All Star Resorts are again quite a bit less. I was on the phone so I do not know the percents, but I ended up booking at All Star Music (with AP discount) 07/31/12 - 08/08/12 for $864. Pop with the AP discount for the same nights would have been $1064.
I am really bummed.

When I checked into the summer savings, both POP and ASMOVIES were given the 5% discounts, music and sports the 15% and I read somewhere the tax is .5% more at the allstars (13% vs. 12.5%) :confused3

We've never stayed at POP so we decided to just suck it up and stick with POP for our 7 nights plus we've stayed at all the AllStars. I can't compare them to POP, but our last stay at Music we really liked the resort - it's my favorite of the 3 and if you aren't paying preferred, request the JAZZ section to be closest to main pool & bldg. I hope you enjoy your trip and just plan on coming back to POP for the trip AFTER that one :goodvibes

OR, you can just talk yourself into paying $25 more a night to move back over to POP......divided by how many people in your group......seriously, I could talk myself into it if I felt that strongly about it. Come to think about it, I did :rotfl2:

I have thought about it... :lmao:
believe me I have thought about it... :surfweb:
Still thinking about it... :3dglasses
Will continue thinking about it... :badpc:
Probably until I change the ressie to POP. :rotfl2:
Mostly I am just annoyed. If POP is a value then why is it treated differently. (and movies as well I guess.)
Even if it is the best value. :cool1:
Disney shouldn't play favorites. :furious:

And Thanks for the heads up about the JAZZ section. (In case we do keep the Music Ressie.) :lmao:

Yep, Disney powers to be is NOT showing any love to POP lately. :furious:

My sis rec'd a pin code that gave her 20% off ASMu and 5% at POP. :confused3

Well, only hope that next time around POP gets a bit more consideration for discounts.

But, hey, congrats on saving some $$. :thumbsup2

Great Thread!

Thanks!! And :welcome: to the thread!! Great group of POPers here! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Well, it was easier for me with a BB FD offer :)... but my sis had to get her own room and she would of saved a little a bit more if we moved to ASMu, but my heart said POP. :hippie:

Plus she got the AAA rate of 10% on the room, hey every little bit helps, right?? :)
