Not sure where to post this, sorry if this is the wrong place. We will be staying at PC, on our arrival day we want to eat dinner at Chef Mickey's. We are flying in, so I will not have a car. What bus do we take from PC to get to the Contemporary? I know buses do not go from resort to resort, so I'm not sure where to go from PC. Also how much time should I allow to get there? We are arriving Oct. 2cd & I am hoping to get seatings around 6:30 -7:30(will not arrive at PC till about 5pm). Thanks fo any help!

We are doing the same as you except a day later...Checking into PC and then going to Chef Mickey's, how long are you staying? We're leaving the 8th and heading to the beach, so we are renting a car, and won't need the busses. Sorry to hijack your post, but maybe someone can answer this question too - Do you get a map upon checkin on how to get to all of these other resorts. I'm a little worried I'll be lost upon arrival.

Take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then either walk over or take the monorail. I don't know how long the bus takes from there but MK to the Contemporary is about 10-15 minutes. The hard part is getting back to PC if the MK closes beofre you finish dinner. In that case I recommend a cab.

Do you mena AK? From MK to the contemporary is a 5 minute walk.

In October, the MK may be closing at 6PM. Take a Taxi. Any other option involves transferring and could take 1-1.5 hours.

We will be at PC Oct. 2cd - 8th! If you have a car it is real easy to get around & they do give you a map at check-in(it is on the back of the paper they give you showing where your room is located). We had a rental car on our trip in June, so we did drive to alot of different places using the map that PC provides. It will be just myself & 2 ds this time. I will not be renting a car so I will be at the mercy of Disney transportation, which I have no complaints about. Just not sure which bus to get on to get to different resorts. I love it at PC, maybe one of these days I will try a different resort lol

Thank you all for your help! I did not even think about the parks closing early & there not being any transportation. Any idea how much a cab fare would cost from PC to Contemporary & back for one adult & 2 children?

I really don't think you'll have a problem getting a bus back to PC after you dinner. We did this very thing on our trip in 2002. We took a bus from ASMovies to MK, hopped on the monorail to Chef Mickey's. After dinner, we took the monorail back to MK and then a bus back to ASMovies. The buses run for quite a while after the parks close.

Thank you lacy1101! I guess I will wait till we get there & see what my options are. Hopefully I can use Disney transportation & not have to bother with a cab. Did you enjoy your meal? This will be our 1st time eating there. How were the characters?

tinknme - The characters were great and we really enjoyed the food. It almost feels like Disney is giving you a welcoming party! Our children were able to get several autographs. It wasn't extremely crowded when we were there so the characters were able to make several stops at our table. I have read some posts where people did not care for the food, but I really liked it. I was able to enjoy a nice buffet, a soothing glass of wine and experiencing the Disney magic with my family. :goodvibes It was a nice way to unwind from the flurry before we left and the flight down, checking in, etc. We plan to do this every trip on our first night there from now on (including our upcoming trip in October). :cheer2:

I had asked this same question when I was planning our trip in 2002. I went back and looked at the responses from then and might add this: if, for some reason, you cannot get bus transportation from MK back to POP, you can always take the monorail from Chef Mickey's to Epcot (they stay open later, of course) and from there take a bus back to your resort. As I said, though, we had no problems taking the bus from MK back to ASmovies last trip and I'm pretty sure we ate there around 7:30 p.m.

I absolutely cannot wait! I'm sure you feel the same way. :wave2:

What night will you be there? We arrive on the 2cd. Yes I am getting very anxious! :cheer2:

My friend and I took at taxi from POP to MK in March/April. I want to say the cost (one way) was $10. This should give you a rough estimate. :)

We actually arrive on Sept. 30 - that's the night we'll be at Chef Mickey's. This will be our 4th trip since my son was 2 (now 13). We usually only get to go every 2-3 years. This will be our longest trip - 8 nights, 9 days. You have boys, 11 & 8? Our kids were 10 and 7 on our last trip - 13 and 10 now. How was your February trip? I asked you on another thread about your stay at POP. How did you like it?

Thank you , this does help! :goodvibes

We loved it! I did reply to the other post :) In Feb we had booked 9 nights but ended up staying 11 lol We had a code for $55 a night, so we were very pleased with the cost. Our June trip was for 5 nights & Oct I have booked for 6 nights. Dh told me I need to find a less expensive hobby :rotfl:

11 nights - WOW! I wish we could do that. I guess we could, though, if we took 2 weeks vacation from work instead of 1. Haven't tried that yet. :scratchin

Well that won't happen again unless some really hard to resist rates come out :) It was nice though, we were able to take our time & not rush. We also went to Universal Studios, IOA, & went to Daytona Beach. My dh's brother & his family were with us & this was their 1st time going, it was very special. Dh & his db also went to one of the races at Daytona, so the rest of us had a nice day of lounging :) Now they are hooked!
