This is our first time visiting Disney World. We've booked 8 standard nights at Pop Century. I'm wondering if I should make a special request for a particular building. I am an 80s child and so I think it would be fun to live there. :yay:

Does anyone know what room numbers are of the section that is parallel to the Classic Hall? The part where the 9101-9472 is printed. I am assuming that the numbers are for the entire building and not that section. It seems like that would be a good place to stay. Not too far from Classic Hall and the bus stops right? And it'd also be on the other side of the pool so maybe it wouldn't be too loud or whatever.

I think people were saying that any room on Pop isn't really too far from the bus stops anyway though.

Please also comment if you've stayed in the 80s and what you thought of it!

I keep getting errors when trying to add a link. =(

I would not (ever) request, or recommend requesting, specific room numbers. Instead, in your case, I would request, "Building 9, facing Classic Hall".

Yeah, I wasn't planning on requesting specific rooms, but wanted to see if I could get more specific room numbers to describe the area that I want so that they would understand...because I explain things weird.

What you said sounds good though. =) Thanks!

You shouldn't have a problem, but lets hope they'll have that available for you. It's good to check early.

Good luck!

Don't request specific room numbers. If those specific rooms are not available, they could put you anywhere. Make a general request for a building or an area.

I just called the reservation number and requested for building number 9. I requested for the building portion that is closest to classic hall which I found was room #s 25-37. Was that too specific of a request? :scared: Mostly I wanted building 9, but also preferred that section away from the pool.

No, that should be fine. It's VERY different from requesting, say, room 4927 (and then being upset when you don't get it).

fernoppi: We stayed in the 80's last April. Room #'s 13-24 are also a short walk across the 90's parking lot. We had rooms 9218-9219. Very quiet. We also got a ton of towel animals!!!

You know, now that you mention it - a couple of years ago I was in the area of building 9 that the OP wants, and yeah, I got a LOT of towel animals, too!

Ooooh I love towel animals! On our honeymoon in Mexico, we got some neat towel animals. A snake, an elephant, and a funny looking girl. I hope I can get building 9 =) Do you get the same mousekeeper for your entire stay?

We stayed in the 80's section last May also in building 9. We were in room 9240 and it was very quiet, close to the computer pool, and a short walk across the parking lot to Classic Hall and the bus stops.

Not much for towel animals though. :confused3

Here is the view from outside our door - lots of trees!

And this is looking towards Classic Hall and the bus stops from the end of building 9 near the stairwell:

Okay, yeah - my room was on that 'branch' of building 9, the one facing Classic Hall and the bus stop. I was momentarily disappointed over facing the parking lot, but it turned out to be sooooooooooo quiet!
