I'm holding out hope for Building 10 for November.

So are we. We like building 6 best but I doubt it will be done by Thabksgiving. Building 10 would be our next choice from buildings with refurbished rooms. Hopefully it will be done by Thanksgiving!I'm holding out hope for Building 10 for November.![]()
Me too. We will be there the first week of November. I feel like Building 10 being done by then might be pushing it.I'm holding out hope for Building 10 for November.![]()
Nice to know they have scheduled open dates!
I am so torn between a request for a refurbished room (so DH and I can have a queen size bed) or staying with my location preference of building 4 lake view! We are going to be there Sept 10th so I think all that will be read will be buildings 7, 8, and 9
We were on the 2nd floor and didn't notice any noise. And I'm one of those who wakes up at any noise whatsoever. At one point I wondered if we had neighbors because I never heard any sounds, and we had a room with adjoining doors, so I thought we might hear noise. I saw some kids going in the door beside us , and still didn't hear any noise. The laminate flooring didn't seem louder at all. The floors didn't seem to creak or make noise as you walk. Maybe if kids are jumping up and down there would be some noise, but as for us, we didn't hear any from the room above. Can anyone who has stayed in a refurbished room on the first three floors at Pop comment on noise from above? Josh from easywdw is reporting that lower floors in refurbed rooms at Coronado are considerably louder due to laminated floors instead of carpet.
Did you know there's a forum for that? https://www.disboards.com/forums/countdowns-and-live-reports.110/Posting just to see my ticker dwindle down![]()
You had very considerate neighbours!! So nice. Some people never make the effort to use their inside voices! We were on the 2nd floor and didn't notice any noise. Then it's building 6 that I want! I got them mixed up!! Want the lake view, it's quieter I think. I only stayed one night but had the very last room in Centre courtyard of bldg 6 near lake path, it was so quiet, no foot traffic past room. I think it would be even nicer with a view of the lake.I bet building 10 will be done by then, but the building with the big Mickey phone is building 6. I'm not sure if that will be ready.
I agree. We stayed in building 6, lakeview on our last trip. It was so quiet! And it was the week of Christmas! Then it's building 6 that I want! I got them mixed up!! That's our favorite building/view at Pop. We go to bed early so a room in a quiet location (minimal foot traffic or especially, no pool!) is a priority. It's very quiet and peaceful overlooking the lake! We also like building 10. It's pretty quiet on the top floor and there are a few rooms with a view of the Mickey phone. We had one near the elevator with a view of it that was a little blocked off but still a nice view. The room next to us was probably a better view. I was worried that time being close to the elevator would mean more noise but it turned out fine .Then it's building 6 that I want! I got them mixed up!! Want the lake view, it's quieter I think. Wow, that is quick.Just read the following on a fb page I follow
POP Century Refurbishment update video: Building 9 will officially open on July 24th and Building 7 is scheduled to open August 14th.
That was one of the first things multiple people pointed out as soon as it was known about the carpet being removed. Can anyone who has stayed in a refurbished room on the first three floors at Pop comment on noise from above? Wow! My room in RPC was so quiet! Had 3rd floor a few doors down the hall around the corner from concierge desk. And my stays in outer buildings were quiet too. Love their beds. I think it all depends on the neighbours. We have been lucky. That's our favorite building/view at Pop. It's funny, but I sleep better at Pop than I do at the deluxe resorts. I find them much noiser! The worst night's sleep I've had at Disney was actually at the GF in the main building. A close second is any room at all in the CR tower (the south wing is quieter). And third is BC. Aside from the one time we had a pool view room at Pop, I always sleep very well there. It's part of why I love this resort so much! It might be huge, but it was designed well!
Fingers crossed building 6 is next!!Just read the following on a fb page I follow

I think part of my problem with the RPC was that I go to bed quite early and am a very light sleeper. The music from the band kept me awake late into the night. The rest of my family slept right through it, though! We also were unfortunate to have gotten noisy neighbors that trip, which is something we've luckily never encountered again at any resort.Wow! We couldn't hear the music from our room! I think there's always that one trip with neighbours from hell! For us it was at POR. Couldn't believe it. Mom let kids run & scream up and down walkway, in and out of room, slamming door each time, latch was out so door wouldn't shut. They moved in our last day, or I would have requested room change.I think part of my problem with the RPC was that I go to bed quite early and am a very light sleeper.
