Pop Century Room Renovations

SO SORRY to excite. But they actually do have room. They have space between the "dresser" and the beverage center that photos show is where they placed a chair from the table. So they can still have chair there, under a counter. The other chair can sit by window at night.

Oh well, the easiest for me is pack a table. :crazy2:

Not to beat the no table dead horse but even a roll away desk top, like a keyboard shelf on many desk, on the beverage stand would have been a bonus. Just slide it out when you need it. Kinda bummed about this layout, but I'll try it out. Maybe the real thing will surprise me and actually work for us.

Thanks for the update. We booked a pool prefered this year. So probably no renovated room for us this year. But hopefully next year.

Tom Brinker (WDWfigment) posted on the main board that the test rooms are exactly what the rooms look like, minus some possible minor tweaks. He wrote about it on his Facebook page, and he did receive a photo of a renovated room, minus a mattress.

I really like them! I will definitely try to stau in a refurbed room in October.

Looked slightly larger than table in unrenovated rooms, but still only two chairs.
Two chairs make sense in a king room, but not in a quad. But they've always only had two chairs, and the table doesn't look big enough for four anyway.
Any idea when the work is supposed to be completed?
Several posts on the last few pages indicate June* 2018 or thereabouts.

I like the furnishing, but I do agree the room needs some color, even if just an accent wall. Depending on how far along they are in September we may request refurbished for our wedding/honeymoon.

Credit goes to Debbie A. - Deb123. She gave me the go ahead to post here since they are in my values FB group. I love it and can't wait to stay in one come November.

Thanks Tammy W and thank Deb123 for us also! I like the rooms!

It's hard to tell, but it looks like they've added a decent amount of storage to the side of the sinkmin the bathroom. Wonder if those are cabinets or if the top is closet hanging and the bottom storage? Also, I know some might disagree, but I like the fact that you'll be able to store things, like your suitcases, under the queen size bed.

That space between the beverage center and the dresser, is something going there? Surely a desk setup would look real nice in that opening.

Other than no place to work on a laptop when the murphy bed is down, I like it.

Thank you for the photos.

I like what we can see of the bathroom. I hope there is still plenty of closet rod area for hanging clothes.

TV definitely looks bigger.

Still not a fan of the main room and agree it needs color. Really dislike the table, blah flat brown slab.

Is that the coat-peg board on the wall where the connecting door usually is? (Didn't have a connecting door so I may be wrong about where it is in the old rooms.)

I'm really lukewarm on this. As a solo, I'm fine with the layout but not enamored of the decor.

Would have been perfect for the counter to extend to beverage for a desk, greatly missed opportunity but the demo photos show it as where you put the chairs when bed is down. They could still put a chair there and still room on other side or by window to put other. Oh well. Not real thrilled about this look or function but love the bathroom, what I can see.

I agree -- I like the rooms but a little more color on the walls would be nice. I'd love to see that back wall (between the main room and the bathroom) be a color...maybe the green that's in the Mickey picture and on the chair cushions.

Since I travel solo I love the layout. I also love that they finally put some storage in the bathroom. They should have added cubbies under the sinks ages ago! I think the only thing I don't love is the lack of color. Like others have said, even just an accent wall color would change the whole vibe. I agree they should have put some detail and/or color on the table too. Even a different color top with the aluminium trim like the 50s style tables.

Maybe they're planning on adding some kind of decade inspired wall art or something to brighten the room. I hope so at least.

I also really like the layout. I'll watch which buildings they hit before september, but i'm definitely thinking about requesting one of the new rooms for my trip
