Pop Century Room Renovations

Thank you for the photos. I wish they carried thru to the room the blue in sink area. Room just looks blah to me too. And with glass fridge door we loose the indoor storage. Didn't see coffee maker?

One would assume things like hair dryer and coffee maker would be the last thing they'd be putting in these rooms. Plus artwork on the walls would go in pretty much last thing too?

I'm curious how the handicapped roll in shower rooms will work. We need that but with two beds, and the old layout worked okay for us.

They already have the artwork hanging above the queen bed, so I'm not holding out much hope for additional artwork....though I'd love to see more.

ETA: Now that I've taken a few more looks at the pictures of the rooms, I think the artwork above the queen bed is actually part of the lighting fixture which is why it's already installed. I'm now holding out more hope that there is more artwork to be added and hopefully provide a few more pops of color in the room.

I'm looking forward to the finished product. We are thinking of a quick May 2018 trip and wanted to stay at POP. It's only me, DH and DD7, so I think it could work.

so excited to finally see actual pictures of the rooms - felt like forever since they started - i just hope we continue to get progress updates as the work goes. I am sure everyone planning to be at POP between June and next May will be eager to see where construction is during their stay - hopefully now that they are in the full swing of things the pace picks up

Anyone there recently make any notice of the gondola construction near the AOA bridge? is that confirmed yet?

POP is my home-away-from-home, and when I'm traveling single I think I'll like this layout quite a bit as the second bed will always be up and out of the way. In November I'll be sharing a room and was thinking the lack of a table might be an issue but in the pictures it looks like there are several options for surfaces to toss stuff so it should be fine. Looking forward to giving this a try.

Theme Park Brothers posted a video update of the construction going on at Pop. I've been watching their CBR videos and forgot to check if they had any Pop. This was posted at the end of April.

**Edited to add, I just watched it and it doesn't show much. But their videos of the construction at CBR and CSR are better. So, hopefully, they'll get back over to Pop and post another video that shows more.

I wonder if there will be another nightstand on the wall side next to the Murphy bed? It looks like there's one on the far side and one in the middle. A third one would be awesome!

I love the look of these rooms. Our kids are older (between 9 and 17), and I think this style will appeal to them more than the cartoony look of the older rooms. Hopefully enough will be done in September that we have a chance at the new rooms!

From the photos the feel is much more contemporary then the normal value style of the all stars - and I love it - a little more color would be nice but overall I am excited for my December stay even more now.

Looks like no room for an inflatable twin anymore, unless it can be put against the door, which I doubt. We've only ever stayed at Pop, so switching to one of the All-Star resorts will be a new experience. Daughter isn't going to be happy to lose the Pop food court though. All-stars food courts just seem so bleh.

I'm loving some of the changes! I like the second nightstand. I'm good with the furniture, sink etc. My only complaint is like most, is the sterile look of it without that "Pop" of colors that I love so much around Pop Century Resort. The room looks very bland, and I really hope more is coming in accents etc. The color palette right now reminds me of a dorm room, waiting for the personal-touches.

I'm still holding out hope that there will be space. I won't give up until we see pictures from inside the room (as opposed to through the window/door from a few feet outside of the room) with the murphy bed open. :) I think there might be room between the murphy bed and the window -- though it may partially block the door (which is obviously a problem if people will need to come and go from the room while someone is using the air mattress). The other potential options are to use a smaller air mattress (if it's a young/short child using it). There are some that are 62" x 34" as opposed to a twin size which is 75" x 39". Or a tri-fold exercise mat could be used. While those aren't as thick as an air mattress, they do come in various sizes and some are a few inches thick. Obviously, the mat even when folded, is going to take up a chunk of cargo space so they would only be an option for someone who is driving or is going to ship it directly to the resort and then leave it behind. The mat would have the advantage of being able to fit under the overhang of the opened murphy bed if needed. Of course it's not going to be as comfortable as an air mattress either.

I have really colourful luggage. I'll just display it prominently in my room.
