Pop Century questions for First Timer

I don't think the hot chocolate, tea, and coffee are free!!!!

They were when I was there last month. They aren't on the same dispensers as the soda machines.

That doesn't mean they are free, lol! The soda machines were just recently switched to the new dispensers and having to have a microchip in the mug to fill at the new machines. So did you steal soda before the new system was put in because you could fill up using any cup? Seriously. The coffee/tea machines just haven't been switched over to the new system.

Take time to look at the displays in the lobby. And to walk along the path by the lake and read all of the signs.

If I remember right, you can see some of Epcot's fireworks from the end of the 50s building (if you happen to be there one evening).

They show a movie by the pool at night. Check the schedule.
They have games by the pool during the day.

We love POP. We own at DVC, but when we aren't staying on points, we stay at POP. Enjoy!

Joining in on the POP discussion. I'm in the early planning stages for a family trip in October 2014 and have tentatively settled on Pop Century. I too heard that there's a location where you can see the Epcot fireworks.

Does anyone have more information regarding the actual buildings where the fireworks can be seen?

The best locations are Building 3(1950s) and Building 4(1960s) upper floors "facing" in Epcot's direction.

Generation Gap Bridge is another good location.

The cool thing is you can sometimes even hear some of the IllumiNations music from POP.
