POP CENTURY ... LAST WEEK of SEPT. 07 MEET

I will have to be on the look out for the Incredibles and the Peter Pan family!! I have not decided if I'm wearing a costume or maybe just a t-shirt. This is gonig to be fun!!

I'll keep checking back on the Fantasmic meet.

Hi, everyone! Just thought I would stop in and catch up on what's been going on.

MNSSHP sounds SO awesome!! DH and I LOVE Halloween so that would be right up our alley!! I was going to insist that we go this year, BUT we are there from 9/22-9/27 so we miss the party by one day on each end. There is no way I'm getting DH to change the dates either. Oh, well, guess we'll save that one for when we have kids.

Everyone's costume ideas sound great too!

You guys are discussing the DDP being a lot of food.... we went two years ago on it but did almost exclusively buffets. This time we are doing a lot more "regular" meals. Do you think that for a party of 5 we could order 3 meals and all be satisfied? It is 3 women who eat average amounts and 2 men. Dad eats normal, DH thinks he can eat his own app, entree, & dessert though. I think that 3 apps, entrees, and desserts should be plenty (mom is diabetic too so she won't eat as much dessert) What do you guys think?

Good Saturday Morning! So, who has big plans? I have a cook-out at my dad's tonight. Hopefully sometime, going to se PotC3! Have a great weekend!

morning aksunshine! We had cook out plans for today but its a rainy day and suppose to storm all day-YUK....so now I dont know what we'll do.

I'm thrilled and a little concerned that we're moving Katie home after 4 yrs away at college. She's had an off-campus apt for the last 2 1/2 yrs so she really hasn't been HOME for more than a week at a time since Aug 2004. I keep looking around the house wondering where we're going to fit all her stuff!! Rented a U-haul for tomorrow. Today I'm going to try to rearrange her room (the dump room!) clearing out everything I threw in there. I don't even know how to cook for her anymore!!! Oh well, I'm so happy to have her back:) She just had a second audition for the National tour of some children's theatre group so it may not be for long!! I'll take what I get! Hope you all have a great weekend!

You're ADR's look great! We have a lot of character meals too...what would a first trip to WDW be without lots and lots of characters (plus I secretly want to meet all the characters myself!) :rotfl:

Aww, that's great pooch!
I can tell by the sentiment of your post how much you love :cloud9: your daughter and how you have missed her! I'm so glad you two can do some catching up now that she's home! I'm sure you're extremely proud, it sounds like you raised an extremely bright and talented young woman! Kids grow up so fast don't they? I :sad1: sometimes thinking about it...can't they just stay babies forever?:)

I hope everyone else is enjoying their holiday weekend!

Yesterday was my and DH 5 year anniversary. We had a wonderful dinner and saw POTC3. The movie was soo good :thumbsup2 It was nice to have a few hours to ourselves for a change without the kids and I even got to sit down and have a margarita! I haven't had a drink since before I was pregnant with my youngest, boy did it taste good :rotfl:

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend spending time with your families!!!!

morning all.... hope everyone having a good day so far... I am here at work... just hoping to have a quiet day :-D

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far!

We have no real plans for the weekend. We moved into our new house at the end of February and still have quite a bit to do to finish "unpacking & getting settled" :sad2: So that was our big plan for the weekend.

I spent the earlier part of the day cleaning our bathroom and the toilets in the two spare bathrooms. Also did laundry :laundy: lots and lots.. still have lots to go (there was a bunch of stuff boxed up for a long time). Then while I was busy cleaning our TV went out!

So we spent the rest of the day out looking for a new TV. We had a nice 36" that we bought for a good deal at a pawn shop years ago. We wanted another one about that size but NOT a flat screen or any of the new Fancy stuff. Just a plain old TV. Well, apparently they are pretty hard to come by these days. We ended up settling on a 32" for right at $300. We had to get the display model cause that was all they had left :confused3 We never even saw a 36" while we were out. They had a few 37" flat screen ones for like $800 :scared1: We plan to get a Big TV for our downstairs, hopefully on Black Friday. But were not prepared to spend big bucks on one today. I don't like the one we got as much as I liked our old one, but it will do.

No plans for tomorrow, so hopefully I can get a little more housework done.

Have a WONDERFUL evening guys!!

AAAWWwwww! I'm sorry about your TV! I hope you can catch some down time to spend with your family this weekend! I can relate to the unpacking and housework though!

Just caught up on a week of posts.

Tweaked my ADRs again. I had originally booked Biergarten for dh, kids and I, after the rest of our crew goes home.
4 pm on 9/23. Then my mom decided to go with us and stay the whole time, so I called to add her.
Panicked that they wouldn't seat us, a party of 10, together at Biergarten, looked at menus, changed to Coral Reef, 5pm.
Panicked again after noticing that Coral Reef changed their menu, and the things I wanted to try were no longer on the menu. Sigh.

Read all the menus, consulted w/ DH, who actually HAD opinions this time :confused3 and headed back to the phone, w/ first choice Biergarten (argh) and second choice, Mama Melrose's.

Got my original ADR back at Biergarten, for 4 pm 9/23. Doh.

So, now that's all settled, AND, what happens?

Opposite of everyone else's problem, we might be losing one person from our trip -- no, not my mom who was the cause of my ADR changes -- but my BIL, who is supposed to be there the first week (his and his kids first trip!)

His bosses are being absolute jerks and refusing to give him his vacation for that time. They do have some legal standing, but could choose not to be jerks about it. We're not cancelling him until the last possible moment, hoping they change their minds. Don't want to lose out on the free dining if he can go!

I really would like him to experience this with his kids. We had to talk him into this at first, as he has no concept (awful childhood, NO family, let alone family vacations.)

So we're praying he can go.

[And thankful that removing someone from an ADR is easier than adding, at this point! We'd be going from 16 to 15, so it won't really affect our seating.]

Anyway -- that's my week in a nutshell.

Hope you are all having a great holiday!!!
