POP CENTURY ... LAST WEEK of SEPT. 07 MEET

Just when I believe I have thought of it all you guys come up with something else to add to my list. One magnetic board with markers added!!! Great idea. Just hope you do not get in the sort of trouble that I did with a similar idea on a refunder's cruise one time. I made up a poster for our cabin door and the other ladies emulated it. I later heard that some of the other passengers thought that our particular group were 'ladies of the evening'. That is what you get for advertising 'prices' on your cabin door. :lmao: The kicker is that most of us were middle aged housewives that looked nowhere near the 'part'.

Keli, I have you on my list. I have so many lists that I hope I do not get confused. :confused3 I never quite know how a day is going to go. Last trip dh got sick first and then I did too so we ended up in bed for two of our days and could have cared less except that a dear friend had trekked all the way over to have dinner with us at R&C as a surprise and they were the ones who were surprised.:sad1:

thunderbird1, congratulations on having a kid so cute that people are willing to pay to look at him!! :woohoo:

lovemickeyshouse , if you are the outgoing type and willing to make the first smile and conversation you will not be alone for long. I have yet to find a bench where I could not find something in common with most anyone. I will not discuss the ONE family at the Biergarten one time but that only sticks out cause it was so uncommon. I have never gone by myself but I imagine it would be interesting to do what you want, when you want and how you want. It is the stuff that dreams are made of.

heath-and-javens-mom, did I miss your birthday? I am sorry. But here is a  to make up for it. I always like to be late cause it makes me stand out from the crowd.

Someone posted about having to buy 'fat' shorts. I am scared to backclick for fear of losing my post. Anywho, I just bought two pair of 2X shorts. I have never, ever, in my entire life worn shorts. My legs have never seen the light of day since I was six or so. I know I am too fat to wear shorts and that is why I got them. I have gone from a size 56 to this and I think the shorts will help me go further. Everytime I catch a glimpse of myself it makes me lose my appetite. Fat is relative. Come run around with me you skinny gal!! :flower3:

Slightly Goofy/Linda

I was searching for POP mugs on e-bay...heh heh, but I'm not sure if they changed them since the one's for auction there (there's 6!) are the 2006 version. NOW I have to BUY them like a law-abiding citizen :rolleyes1

Getting my Miss Piggy stuff and LLIME green Mickey heads for our 2 windows. I also thought glass markers would be cool. I want it done in less than 15 minutes so we'll see.

SG: I too am a big girl  Sexy... but big. I am wearing shorts and don't care what people think.. Comfort is my goal in that Sept heat.

Utahmama: Hello my friend, glad to see you

Dry Erase Boards: We had a board last year on our door and it was great !! we had tons of people sign it everyday.. It was so exciting to return from the parks and see who signed it. Also, I had a couple of Diser's slip notes under out door

Hi KELI!!!!!

That's a good idea- dry erase boards...I may copy you!

AND- Big but sexy girls....go ahead and wear your shorts!!! No one will care one hoot...plus you'll feel so cool and gorgeous! MY fat legs look best when "tan" (fake tan of course). Why does tan and fat look better than pastey and fat? Hmmm? I will be getting a super cool mystic spray on tan just before we leave, and maintaining with a tan in a bottle. Great, now I have to add that to the plans...

Happy Birthday Farrah!!

ENJOY!! Hope you have a peaceful day!! You are loved!!

Fat shorts That'd be me... I am a fat chick in need of bigger fat shorts - and I also dont care how ugly I look from the back as I dont look at that view!! :rotfl2: When I was PG with our last - we went to Disney, dh said he just looked for the purple legs :rotfl2: Guess my veins stick out too!!

Fleetfeetmom.jpg

Here I was 2 Sat ago - I have set a goal of running that 1/2 Marathon in Disney!! I know I look ridiculous!! But I hope I can, I think I can... I KNOW I can!!

Dry erase with magnetic - ok, I'll look or I'll just do tape and paper!!

Are you sure the cool Tink notepad wont get swiped??? That sounds so cool!!

Fat and sexy, hey I got half of that down!!

UtahMama, you gonna be at DW in September too!! I am not going to have any time to go to the parks at all with all the fantastic folks I want to meet. Won't bother my dh at all as all he really likes is the food anyway. I still use my mugs I bought way back when it was for 'lifetime'. I take their promise seriously. Hope you find what you want. I often wonder what they do with the ones left in rooms and on the tables when folks check out. Bet they wash 'em up and sell them again. Maybe the CM have a black market sale going on? "Hey, here behind the bushes - wanna buy a 'slightly' used mug?":rotfl2:

eeyore45, wtg with the running! I could not run unless you put a child in danger up the road and I was the only one around. I would immediately die afterward though. I do not have blue veins but do have big scratches from rose bushes and then I got attacked by a concrete frog the other day so I am bruised. One good thing about being older is that you no longer care about the small things in life. I am just happy my legs work at all. :) I will be rooting for you and the marathon. I am in awe.

Everyone will be relieved to know that I did a bit of independent research and did NOT buy those baggy poly shorts or the tight bike shorts and I do not own a tube top. It is not a sin to be fat but you do not have to show every wrinkle. Maybe I will get really brave and dip my legs in a pool. I have never been in a pool. I have had a sheltered life. :dance3:

Slightly Goofy (who had a 3.75 loss last week)two more to go before we leave!

So I have a question.

We were planning on maybe sticking a dry-erase board to our POP door, and letting DISers put their username and a message. The window would also be decorated with our usernames, and LGMH's.

So, do you think it would work? If you say a door/window like that would you sign your name?

We are planning on putting up a dry erase board...it's still on my list of things to buy, but I'll be getting it soon.

Disneyland? Woo-hoo! Nothing like a little DL to get you in the mood for WDW, not that we need anything else to get us in the mood, right? Being on the West coast with a sister in So Cal I'm sure you've been a million times, but we were just there last December so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

This will be your first trip with Hunter, right? It will give you a chance to see what works, what doesnt, what he likes, what he doesn't, how he reacts to various characters and attractions. And, most importantly, whether he likes Dole Whips.

I was thinking about the whole dry erase board/butcher paper thing. Where did you all find your dry erase boards with magnets? It'd have to be fairly small, so it wouldn't take up too much room in the suitcase. Alternatively, I'm thinking of bringing a tinkerbell notepad my dh and dd bought for me last trip. It has a magnet and is only 6" by 7". It currently sits on the front of my refrigerator, but it might be the perfect thing for DIS peep autographs. Still trying to figure out the best way to attach my LGMHPC's to my hat (cause I'm afraid no one will see the one(s) on my baggallini).

Actually, I haven't been to Disneyland since '99 so I haven't seen CA Adventure or any of the new additions. I'm excited to go because I think it will give me a quick idea of how to manage our long vacation with Hunter. We used to go a lot when we were kids, but not too much anymore, I love taking a longer trip to Florida every year.

Why does tan and fat look better than pastey and fat? Hmmm? I will be getting a super cool mystic spray on tan just before we leave, and maintaining with a tan in a bottle. Great, now I have to add that to the plans...

That's so funny that you say that because that is the same thing I always tell my DH. If he complains about me going tanning, I say that my tan fat looks better then me being super pasty white LOL :rotfl:

FARRAH!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Have a wonderful day :)

Hi everyone! I see everyone's awfully chatty today :) I'm glad there will be so many of us with dry-erase boards. I know my 4 year old will have fun helping me find them all so we can leave a message! Working on dd(4) countdown calendar...should have it finished soon! She keeps asking if it's time to go to WDW yet so this should help her understand the time concept a little better.

Happy Birthday, Farrah!!

I got a Lime Green- framed one off ebay. It's about 7" x 9". I bought magnetized markers to go with it from wally world. You can get locker sized magnetized boards in the office supply area of wally world. Especially right now!

Thanks for the tip! We have to go on a school supply run one of these days anyway, so I'll check out the magnetized boards while we're there.

Getting my Miss Piggy stuff and LLIME green Mickey heads for our 2 windows. I also thought glass markers would be cool. I want it done in less than 15 minutes so we'll see.

Glass markers for the windows! I like that idea, too. Wish I had the artistic ability to do something really cool, but perhaps a simple welcome message will be enough.

Are you sure the cool Tink notepad wont get swiped??? That sounds so cool!!

Good point. That's why I'm afraid to bring our 16" x 14" mickey head magnet. It's yellow, but aspires to be lime green. Maybe a plain note pad would be better. And, btw, you look awesome running!

OMG--can't. . . stop. . . laughing! How many, drunken, late night knocks on the door did you have to answer?

thunderbird1, congratulations on having a kid so cute that people are willing to pay to look at him!! :woohoo:

Sorry--can't take credit for the cute kid--it's Becky_AK who's getting the free trip to DL. You had me going for a few minutes there. "Who will pay to see my kid? I'm game! More money for WDW!:cheer2:"

You, and your skinny shorts, go girl! My dh said this morning that as long he can still find shorts in his size, he's not too fat to wear shorts!

12 nights at pop now so its partytime single ladies :cool1:

Glad you're still in! My college roommate took a last minute birthday trip to WDW when she was in her late 20's, and she said she had the best time. You will, too!

I was searching for POP mugs on e-bay...heh heh, but I'm not sure if they changed them since the one's for auction there (there's 6!) are the 2006 version. NOW I have to BUY them like a law-abiding citizen :rolleyes1 .

We're buying them, too, but only 2 to share between the 4 of us, so we're not too law abiding. They can't completely quash the pirate in us. pirate:

Speaking of pirates, I know a lot of you are arriving well before the big glow party, so don't forget that September 19 is talk like a pirate day (see link below). Properly warned ye be says I!

lovemickeyshouse, nothing 'thick' about most of us women at all. If you want to have one of your own, a sense of humor and wanting something besides something to 'grip' onto is a must. :)

Why does tan and fat look better than pastey and fat?
Picture this, a plate of fried chicken and a plate of raw chicken. Which one do you want? Besides dark colors are slenderizing.

Bushes done, have to get down and crawl around and get those pesky weeds that hide under there next. Hope nothing attacks me as I am mighty slow getting back up. Might improve my speed though. :scared1:

SG/Linda

Fat is the new thin. ;) I keep telling myself fluffy is IN!

One thing i refuse to do is pay for extras no msshp for me or no wine and food events either i just pay for the hotel stay plus liquor

thunderbird1, you just assume that I answered the door? Now I am scared to tell you that my room was plumb full of people until the wee hours of the morning AND the trip ended up costing me nothing! True, though not for the reasons YOU might think.

Congrats to both you and Becki (and everyone else) for having great looking kids. I will be glad to look but having 6 grandkids of my own I am too poor to afford to pay for the privilege. :goodvibes

UtahMama, I think the goal is to be healthy, not bone skinny. I look younger than I am. No wrinkles, at least not any place that I do not cover. :cool1: I am getting used to the shorts bit by bit. When I first put them on and wore them around the house I felt plumb nekkid. Now I go out into my enclosed backyard a bit. The next door neighbor is older and cannot see well. I would not want to scare him. I am wondering if I will have the courage to wear them in the parks? I am far too lazy to go back and change for sure so if I get on the bus I am good to go. :yay:

I am of an age where I am breaking all the rules. I even told my husband that I WAS going to talk on the phone when I wanted to and he could just stop his hopping up and down and screaming. His dad did the same thing to his mom. Silly man.

SG/Linda

Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone!:grouphug: I had a pretty good day! I only have one more year untill I turn 30 tho:scared1: Kinda scary!

:woohoo: YOU GO GIRL!!!:woohoo:

Well said!! I feel the same way :thumbsup2

She's so fat! HOW FAT IS SHE??? Haven't worn a bathing suit in over 5 yrs. Just too scary for small children and animals. I have, however, purchased every color/pattern of Dockers skorts I could lay my hands on. At least when I sit down, my thighs don't look like sausages trying to escape their casings!!! Menopause the musical is alive and well and living in ME!!! Have so far managed to miss most other symptoms (ok a few night sweats) but I think I gain weight in my sleep!!! Sorry if this is TMI!!!

[/B]

Well then I am a Frigin Fashion Statement :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: WTG Utahwendymama!! :woohoo:

SG/Linda I love your posts!!

Becky - DH and I were talking about vacations for next year - he really wants to climb a mountain (he did Ranier last year - this year its all messed up!) and he says, he really really wants to go to Alaska - and I said, oh Becky AK will be at Pop at the glow party and she says her dh invites people to Alaska all the time - I'd better warn her if he invites you - YOU'D MEAN it and go!! :rotfl2:

he said " How close are they to the mountains?" :rotfl: I'm telling you, its been his dream to go to Alaska - then Ireland!! Its his "mid life crisis" this "climbing mountain stuff" I can live with that because mine is Disney!! :rotfl2:
