Pop Century is Far Out!

When I went for my interview (which was at PC), I was told that I was able to discuss all this with folks, because it would get them all excited to go. So I have a feeling it will all be a go. :)

Oh, boy, that's music to my ears! :earsgirl: If Pop Century would open to the public in November instead of December, I would be the resort’s first guest. From all the information that you have passed along to us here on the Dis, I would love to stay there. I guess I’ll just have to wait until my WDW trip next year, ~sigh.~

I just had a thought. I booked a wheelchair accessable room for Christmas. I need a double room because I have two kids. I read somewhere that these rooms were only with king beds. Do you happen to know. And do you know which building these rooms would be in?

Just booked two rooms for November 2004. Yoo Hoo. mrsdash :goodvibes :grouphug:

When Disney continues with the Legendary section, are they still planning the Monopoly Board courtyard? And if so, how hard would it be to sneak a Scottish Terrier onto it ;) ?

I can't wait to see this one. I'll take a ride over when I'm down there - and who knows? Maybe next time we'll stay!

I can't wait to stay there. We are planning more small trips to DW. When I go, I'm gonna check it out. It just looks so memerable!

The room that we saw on my tour was an accessible room, with two double beds and an accessible bathroom. It also connected to the next room over, which had a normal tub, and two double beds as well. It was located in the 50s area on the first floor, and was VERY close to the main building. Closer than some "preferred" rooms, actually.

I'm assuming this room layout will stay, but it was only a preview room, so I can't guarantee that.

Tyler

Thank you that makes me feel better. I called and checked on my reservation also and they said I was in a room with two double beds.

I would love to be escorted to my room in one of those Cadillac-inspired golf carts. Way cool! Chip 'n Dale Express, you've been holding out on us. What an awesome resort. ;)

Thanks for the Mousesavers link. I'm so glad someone was finally able to get some interior pictures, to show how subdued and nice the interiors are.

My favorite quote (and it's SO true):

The eye-popping graphics and colors of the resort are pretty wild. I must admit I wasn't too taken with the exterior of the resort and I didn't expect to like it much. But once we walked inside and saw the public areas, the pools and the rooms, I was impressed. If I were booking a Value resort right now, I would definitely go with Pop Century.

If 60s building is preferred. Does that mean ALL the rooms in that building are, or just certain locations in that building?

Thanks
Deedee

I am really impressed with the pictures on Mousesavers! The only thing I don't like about the AS is the rooms. These rooms look so much better. Does the room have an armoire or am I seeing things? I didn't see doors, but the TV is definitely sitting in something (rather than just on top of a dresser). And the drawers look like regular drawers. It looks like PC will be the mod of the values!

Tyler, I have a huge FAVOR!!!! Can you let us know if the cheerleaders will be staying there this Feb? We will be there for a quick weekend Jan 31-Feb 2. I really want to stay at PC-it looks like it could end up being my favorite resort (over CSR and AKL).

Those are awesome pictures!

Deedee, it is all of the rooms in the 60's building. That is how it is in the other All Stars.

Is playdoh in the 60's area? That's the section I wanted to stay in- it figures they'd make it preferred and up the $. :(

So are there only 2 pools --- One in the 60's that looks like a flower and One in the 50's that is the bowling pin ? what about in the 70's and 80/90's ? I was looking closely at the ariel view on disneypix.com and it looks like maybe a pool in the 80/90's but no space in the 70's ?? It would be my luck to be in the building that has no pool so I would like to make a request .. Thanks Michelle

Oh incase anyone needs to know they are taking ressies for late Oct/early Nov 2004 ..

Hi Michelle,
I think Tyler answered your question in the first post on this thread. He says there are three pools. The Hippy Dippy pool, the Bowling Pin pool, and one shaped like a computer.

--Bill

ETA: I think the 70's does not have a pool. I don't remember where I read that though.

OH good lord how embarrassing for me :o

after reading through 10 pages I guess I forgot !!! Thanks :yo-yo: sometimes this is what my brain feels like !!
