Pop century folks... reasons you like it or reasons you don't.... trying to decide

We've stayed at the POP twice in the past year and may be there again in December 2018. We've been in building 2 in the 50's, a standard room....and in building 5 in the 60's a preferred room. For me I liked the 60's much more than the 50's...........and not because I was born in that decade. :P

Our room in the 50's was a bit of a walk from the main lobby and food court (I'm 55+ so it matters........whine over ;) ) However I do agree the resort footprint isn't as massive as others make it sound. Have ya ever been to Port Orleans Riverside? o_O The area we were in was holding a large group of baseball players. The kids were actually fine.......the parents were the loud ones :) We had a fourth floor room and it was surprisingly noisy........but I contend that had more to do with the baseball parents than anything else. We used the room as a place to sleep.........it was clean........we had no real complaints.

Now this past November we had a "preferred" room in the 60's section. We had a 30 sec walk to the food court/lobby........and I'm not ly'in. To get to the bus was less than 90 seconds.:-). Our room was on the 1st floor (a request I had made via TP fax) and the area was so quiet.......and this was during F&W festival. We also had quick access to the main pool and its bar. One night I came back from AK and stopped at the bar for a drink..........it was awesome! Again the room was clean........we loved it! Buses have never been an issue for us.........sometime you might wait but.........hey its DISNEY WORLD :)

So in our meager experience its really is about location.....location......location. You pay a bit more for that location but for us its shown to be a difference. We're doing a Christmas weekend in December and we could be at POP. I've reserved a preferred room again. Fingers crossed. Really in the end my wife and I prefer deluxe resorts.......hey we're old, kids are gone.....we deserve it. Now because of that we have to plan a year out. Having a go to value resort like POP has allowed us to do an extra trip the past 2 years. I'm pro POP!!!

Love POP! Definitely keeps you in the Disney bubble, which is EXACTLY what I want in my Disney vacation. We were in a refurbished room in November 2017. We had a standard pool view in the 90's. The walk was an easy shot to the busses, the pool was not loud or crowded, and the new rooms are AWESOME! The beds felt super comfy and I loved having the sliding door while I got ready before the rest of my crew in the mornings in the bathroom.

Curious as to what the one bus stop means? I've stayed at Sports and am familiar with their bus system. Is Pop different?

There is one central bus stop at Pop Century, and the buses only stop at Pop Century. I believe (someone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong) at the All Stars there is only one bus stop, but at times the same bus will stop at all three All Star resorts. I think it can be no different from Pop Century if the bus is only going to one of the All Stars.
