If the gross bugs you were reading about giant flying 'roaches', those are palmetto bugs. A fact of life in FL, and their presence has absolutely nothing to do with cleanliness. Disney could exterminate in every room after every single guest, and would still never eliminate the possibility of having one in a guest's room. You open the door to the outside, and stuff flies in. Or crawls in. Or rides in on a guest's clothing or shoes or luggage. Or rides in on a housekeeping cart.
We had a palmetto bug in our bathroom at GF years ago. Yeah, they'll huge and they'll sure startle you, but there's not much you can do about it. It probably flew in when we had the balcony door open to watch Wishes.
PEOPLE!!! THEY ARE INSECTS AND THEY LIVE OUTSIDE EVERYWHERE NOT JUST WDW. And YES they can come indoors when doors or windows open. They are a FACT OF LIFE and not a gross infestation. I live in rural America in the South and I continue to be astounded at the Freak Out Factor over insects. I have 6 college interns this year who *think* they want to be vets that go into squealing fits over ticks and horse flies.
Watch "It's Tough to be a Bug" at AK? OK? Insects arte an important part of our lives and the whole Circle of Life thing.

I mean COVERED!!!
I was there May 6 thru the 10th. They were pretty bad around the Hippy Dippy pool. Not sure if it was the water that was the attraction. But it was weird that they weren't as bad at the bowling pin pool. I wonder though if it was the combo of people and water?? I also noticed that they seemed to be getting worse as the week progressed. Didn't notice them so much at the beginning of the week, but by Friday!! Wow! They were getting annoying! LOL! Constantly swatting at them when I was around the pool area trying to get some sun while I was waiting for my daughter.
Overall, I think POP does a great job! But as I have advised others before. If you have a housekeeping problem, DON'T go to the front desk. Ask to speak with the Housekeeping Manager for your building! They will get your problem fixed and fixed well! It is a much better solution than going to the front desk. The housekeeping mgr for the bldg you are staying in needs to know and he/she will take care of those kinds of issues better than the front desk. That is their job! Seriously! To see that those things are taken care of, and that the rooms are cleaned properly. Give them the opportunity to do their job and they will do it well!
!! Thanks guys, 99 days left for us!! woo hoo!
