POP Before the Christmas Rush-Who's with me!?

We're going to go for a long weekend in December. Either the weekend of the 6th or the 13th, not sure yet. We are going to stay at POP for the first time. I think my daughter will totally love it! She loved ASMu and could have cared less about POFQ. She wanted the huge icons.

I know Pop Warner is the week of the 6th-13th, and that they are at the All STars and POR. Does that mean they are NOT at POP? I have nothing against teenagers, but being a high school teacher I like a little break from them on vacation!!

This trip is going to be a surprise for my daughter- who will be five then. We surprised her last May and never told her until we got to the airport. It was awesome!

I haven't seen Disney at Christmas since 1986!!!!!!!! And my husband has never been there at that time. I know it will be amazing...

Yes, I've read where Pop Warner is also at POP.

We like to surprise the kids too. Notice we are surprising them in August. We've surprised them before in 2006 and they found out the morning we were leaving.

They know about the 10 day trip in December, but not the 4 day trip with free dining in August. At least we can talk about it in front of them without them knowing.

I love Disney in December too. It's so fesitve and you can just feel the Christmas spirit. I think everyone is friendlier too.

I am working on finishing my degree in Special Education.

We are leaving on June 7, from Delaware. This will be our first stay at Pop. We have stayed at other resorts on property. Another family is going with us and they are 1st timers to Disney. Hope they will be able to keep up with us. We like to see and do everything.

Count us in this little Pop party!!

We'll be there the 11th through the 15th, and it'll be me, DS (12), my aunt (who is more like my giggle-twin), my dad, and my dad's guide dog. Just look for the big yellow lab around Pop -- that'll be us.

And the only Pop Warner people who might be at Pop will be ones who for some reason opted to book on their own. The only blocks of discounted rooms for them are at the All-Stars with overflow at Riverside, unless something drastically changes this year. But every year before, it's always those above-mentioned resorts. So no real need to worry there.

Can't wait to plan with you guys!

Oh yeah, he's a WDW pro. For some reason, his favorite rides are Jungle Cruise and Snow White's Scary Adventures. Other rides, he just curls up and goes to sleep on the floor of the ride vehicle, but with those two he loves to look at everything.

Here he is in his Santa Goofy hat (the Goofy ears serve as handy chin-straps!):

Dad and Debbie have never stayed at Pop before, but DS and I absolutely fell in love with it in February. We are SO excited to be going back!!

I want to plan our park days, but there's been such a delay in posting the hours by disney that has caused quite a stir on the boards.

I am hoping they are out by June 1st. I have ADR"s to make here people. My ADR date is June 13th.

My DD and I are going a bit before Christmas and then staying until a bit after Christmas (December 20-28). If only her school calendar would cooperate, we would be able to join all of you in the less crowded parks earlier in the month. What we are most disappointed in is the fact that we will miss MVMCP this year...a couple of years ago when we went, wow, it was magical! We are still trying to figure out which park to go to on Christmas day, and where to eat on that day as well.

Take walks all over the resort, we found an empty twister game just waiting to be played with.

We decorate our window and door. It's fun to get and leave messages. Also helps to find your room.

Watching Illuminations from the lake.

We had a break one morning and had the pool all to ourselves. Yes, it did get warm enough to swim in November/December. The pool was always busy at night like 10pm or later, so if you want to actually sleep, don't get a room facing a pool.

DS wanted to celebrate his bday at WDW since DD got to do it last time so we planned this trip around his. They are very excited especially to miss week of school, we are going the week after Thanksgiving. We are also going to Candlelight processional, osborne lights, and MVMCP (12/4). Busy week but down time also built in. I finally get to make ADRs on Monday which I'm sure will be INSANE if park hours for Nov. are released this weekend.

We went the same week you are going in 2006. You will love it! My son celebrated his 10th that week. We took them to the barber shop in Magic Kingdom and they got their haircuts.
