POP Before the Christmas Rush-Who's with me!?

we will be there Nov 29th-Dec 6th at POP. DH, DS (turning 11 at WDW), DD7, me, Mom, MIL, FIL, & SIL. We stayed there in Feb 2006 and loved it. DS wanted to celebrate his bday at WDW since DD got to do it last time so we planned this trip around his. They are very excited especially to miss week of school, we are going the week after Thanksgiving. We are also going to Candlelight processional, osborne lights, and MVMCP (12/4). Busy week but down time also built in. I finally get to make ADRs on Monday which I'm sure will be INSANE if park hours for Nov. are released this weekend.

We will be at POP this week as well. Actually 28th to the 5th. Staying with DW, my parents and my three kids (DS5, DS2 and DD1).

My and my dd's very first trip to Disney... my DH has been once before in the 80's... can't wait! We booked our flight, haven't booked our room yet... DH wants to talk to his uncle that lives down there first... ugh... I'm anxious to get a reservation in!

Question: Can you really swim in December? Are all the pools outdoors? My DD(9) is a real fish and will not be able to walk by all these pools and not jump in. She won't care if they're cold either, she swims in the ocean in maine in May!!!

Honestly, we don't even go to Michigans Adventure and we live only three miles down the road from there. It's just not as big of a deal as it was when I was a kid and going to Disney spoils us from wanting to go there as well.

We will be there the 15-20 It is just be and DBF. We have no kids, but we would be very happy to participate in a mini dis meet. I've never met someone from the boards and I think it would be fun. Now just counting down the days.

I will be there at Pop, 50's building (if I am able to get my request met), from December 3-December 14. I will be traveling with DD (23), Princess DGD (2), and future son-in-law. Our "down" day, or day away from the parks is December 10th as we are doing MVMCP on the 9th. We have Chef Mickey's scheduled for a late breakfast and plan to sit by the pool, tour downtown Disney or visit other hotels during the day. Arrival day for DGD and myself is the 3rd, with DD and future son-in-law landing on the 4th at Orlando airport. So do not have too much planned on those two days...except dinner at Whispering Canyon late afternoon on the 4th as I know this will be an awesome first exposure for future son-in-law.

We've never stayed at a value before so I'm a bit nervous but since we're thinking of the kids (instead of just us this time!), we're hoping they'll think it's fun. DH and I have been several times (including honeymoon) but we're excited (and a bit nervous!) about bringing the boys on their first Disney trip. We're doing MVMCP on 12/4 and are still trying to work out ADRs with in-laws who chose to rent house off-site and mess up my plans!!!!! We hadn't thought about decorating windows or doors - that's a fun idea!

Try decorating your window. We do. We bring window clings we make and dry erase boards that attach to the doors and welcome people to sign them. You can also get the mickey head paint chips from home depot and put in your window.

Allright! Fellow POPers! We (Me, DH, DS10, DS7, DMom, DDad) will be at POP from Dec 7th-Dec 14th. This will be our 2nd time at POP in December (went in 2006). I love everything Christmas! Being able to hear Christmas music throughout POP is so awesome! I'm really excited! Can you tell?

I've made all our ADRs for our trip. We are using the Dining Plan.

12/7 --Arrival Day (CS meal somewhere)
12/8--Sci Fi Dinner
12/9--Ohana Breakfast
12/10--Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner
12/11--LeCellier Late Lunch
12/12--Whispering Canyon Dinner

Pikester: It's not TMI! It's wonderful. We love this time of year too and were at pop in 2006 end of Nov beginning of Dec.

We'll be there, too! Staying at POP 12/09-12/21. It will be DH, DS, DD, DD, Grandpa, and Grandpa's girlfriend (sorry, don't know abbreviations for that one!). DS will celebrate his third birthday on 12/20 and the girls (they're twins) will have *just* celebrated their FIRST birthday on 11/27, coupla weeks before we arrive! We're hoping to get connecting rooms so Grandpa and Sheila can watch the kids a couple of nights for us...

We never thought about decorating the window, but I think it will be fun! Now I've just gotta find some fun decorations!

I made some really cool window clings last trip.


I found some cool disney clipart, added some text and printed from my computer. You can buy window cling paper at your local business store like Staples.

Just remember that it will print backwards and you have to put the paper in the right way.

I've seen windows with christmas lights strung around it and garland.

And tons of disney stuff animals along the sill too.

I think Mousefest is going on around this time and you'll see windows done from those participants too.

It's just fun walking around to see all the windows done up.

I'm in a fridge swap and we have a table top christmas three in the box too. So we can really go all out if we want.

I think a DIS meet from this thread would be really cool!

I had a brain storm the other day so my Mom and I are going to make Mickey heads for our window. She found some small Christmas print fabric and she made a Mickey head pattern. We are going to sew the Mickey heads, stuff them with poly fill, add a loop at the top and Voila! A Mickey head Christmas decoration. We are going to buy the small suction cup hooks for the windows and hang them. I have snowflake window clings we are going to use too. I also plan on having atleast one lime green Mickey head on there somewhere. I haven't decide if I will have a paper on my door for signitures yet. I'm not quite sure how to make that.

Talking about this gets me all excited again about our trip. That's probably why I'm on the DIS all the time!

For me the DIS equals instant excitement!
