I posted this on the resorts board but I am going to try it here.

I noticed on someone's post a photo of BWV pool at night and there was a large screen with a disney movie showing and people swimming in the pool while watching.Does anyone know if this is a regular thing they do and if the other DVC's do this also. We stayed in Virginia Beach last summer and the hotel did the same thing. The kids loved it. It was a great way to spend the evening after a busy day in the hot sun.

Waiting for the answer also. I haven't seen it, but I also haven't really used the BWV pool much on my visits.

I've stayed at the BWV many times and I've never seen this occur. I have seen this at the Hard rock Hotel at Universal though.

Have stayed at bw quite a few times and to date have never seen this (or read about in our room packet) Maybe it was a special event. Do you know if this was held at the quite pool or the coaster pool??

the SSR pics were awesome! i can't wait for my first trip home!!! thanks for posting them rriley!!

I know they have a swim in movie event at Vero Beach but have never seen one at WDW DVC resorts.

If you saw a photo it must have happened. I've stayed at BWV 3 times with a view of that pool and have never seen it either. One of my few gripes with DVC is that they ofer nothing in the form of activities or events. Other timeshares offer way more for the kids. Now with WDW right there they probably figure they do not need to. I'd like to see them raise the bar in that regard.

I think that they did it once in Dec, a few times in the summer months - the rest of the time no...it was either Friday or Saturday night only.

I am not sure that they would be allowed to do it at all these days.

I think FW campground is the only place where you can still see a movie for free on Disney property...

sometime about the contract with AMC?????

They do have movies at the BWV "Quiet Pool" occasionally - we saw one in October once - the kids really loved it! It seemed to be one of the weekly activities - but that was about three years ago so maybe things have changed.

I was at BWV in December 2004, The first week not sure of the exact dates but it was the first week in December. There were 2 events going on at the pool that I myself have never had while there. One was a Pool party one of the Guys from the community hall was D.J. and there was music and trivia and poolside dance type things. Not really dance contests but maybe hula hoops? Then the same night or the next night there was a dive -In movie. The movie was "The little Mermaid" Cotton candy and popcorn was sold at both activities. The only reason why I can think this was offered was that it was unseasonably warm for December close to 90 during the day and I know for sure near 80 when we were in the Pool, watching the movie.
I may add this was also on a Sunday through Thursday as I don't use weekend points. Maybe pool party on Wednsday and Movie on Thursday evening.
Also this was at the main pool they had the dj and the movie screen set up sort of behind and to the right of the life guard that watches people coming off the slide.

It was great fun I hope they do it again!!!!!!

Personally, I've never seen this kind of thing before. It sounds like a really GREAT idea to me! You definitely have my vote.

Tom :thumbsup2

They have this on the Disney Magic Cruise line. It's pretty cool.

I would love to see it at the resorts.

We saw them doing this in October 2005 one night when walking friends of ours back to the BWV from MGM.

I agree RE:Activities. HH and Vero have a little more going in this regard. I do not think that Disney would have to worry if they did add a few more resort activities. It wouldn't be enought to keep people away from the parks or other places. My sons are always looking for a place to play a little baseball!

We usually go in FEb. so to play baseball in winter is a treat for them!
