Has anyone stayed there and spent some time at the resort? We'll be there next week and I'm curious how the pools and restaurants are.

We just got back from Orange Lake 2 weeks ago and it was our fourth stay there.

We spent time at all 3 of the main pool areas:

West Village Pool: This is where we spent most of our time b/c we could walk there from our West Village unit. (#2305). The pool was huge and the kids had a ball. The adults liked it b/c we could get drinks at the bar. We ate dinner there on Mexican night-I believe it was Wed- and it was delicious. We opted to order take out so that we could eat right by the pool instead of using table service.

Splash Lagoon: Our kids liked the water slide here (short but fun) and the basketball hoop that was in the pool. This pool was by far the least crowded and I think it's b/c the bar/restaurant was only open on the weekends. Our friends that we traveled with have a younger child and there is a GREAT pool there for little ones.

River Island: The last 2 times we've stayed at Orange Lake we stayed in the River Island buildings so we used RI every day. We only went here twice this trip b/c it was the farthest from our unit. We also found it incredibly crowded this trip and a bit stressful trying to keep an eye on our 6 year old. The water slides were a big hit with our 8 year old.

My husband played on both of their golf courses too and had no problems getting a good tee time.

Hope that helps!

Hey Julie,

We will be staying at Orange Lake in three weeks.

We will be in the North Section... I am surprised to hear that the little restaurant/bar at Splash Lagoon was not open during the week!!!!

Do you think that they will be opening for the entire week soon, as we get closer to Memorial Day??? Maybe I will try to contact the resort somehow. I don't remember it showing limited days open last time I looked at the schedule of activities/venues/hours etc... :confused3

I hope we will like the North section... I hope we get a decent unit, as I know that North should be up next for re-furb. But, as you mentioned, it seems to be the quieter section. (we will get enough sensory overload at the Parks!!!)

Any other info or feedback about Orange Lake is much appreciated!
:goodvibes
