How deep is the water at the end of the castle slide at OKW?

Do they have vests? Are they allowed on the slide?

My son can swim, he's just not the strongest swimmer. When he goes down can we be waiting in the wings to be there to reach out to him? I am not talking about catching him at the bottom, but off to the side.

Thanks!

Yes, you can be in the water at the bottom of the slide to catch him.

The do have life vests, but I don't know if they're allowed on the slide.

DD9 reports that she could touch the bottom when she came off the slide. OKW did seem to get deeper than most Disney pools (over my head at one point) & I would absolutely want to use a vest on the deep side. :thumbsup2

I think it is either 3.5 or 4 feet where the slide comes off. I can't answer the life vest question though. I have never seen anyone wearing one, but that doesn't mean it isn't allowed.

Fantastic 3.5-4 feet is perfect for him! No need for a vest then :cool1:

We were at VWL in April and my son used a vest on the pool slide there. The life guards did not stop him.

Yes, there allowed. Our 4 year nephew travels with his personal swim vest and he went down the slide alone, oh! at least 60 times. The kids love it.

This is all really good to hear! I know that I will feel better and ds will feel better knowing that we have these options.
