Pool Hopping

i wouldn't care who is pool hopping! that's the point worry about yourself! There won't be a big diffrerence in any pool. I'll be at OKW from aug 12-18th & AKL from th 18th-20th...come on over & let's have a drink! I wanna know when & where some of the complainers are going..that way if i am ever down at the same time, I'll make a point of pool hopping!

But isn't quite difficult to GET TO another resort to swim?(If you don't have a vehicle)-even if you do-do you tell the guard you're there to pool hop?

So you bring a bag with dry clothes to wear to take 2 busses back to your home resort?

Seems like WAYY too much trouble to me.

It's no harder to get to a resort to swim than it is to get there to do anything else. As far was what to bring....actually you can wear your swimsuit and a nice cover (for those who like to complain about inappropriate dressing). You don't need to bring a thing with you. It's very easy.;)

Actually, I don't swim at other resort pools. Heck, I don't swim at the resorts I DO stay at. Then again, it's none of my business why people want to swim or where they want to swim.

These posts always interest me, because people assume that the ones who pool hop are value guests. It usually takes a few pages, but that's how they end up. I personally think that those who want to pool hop (and if I asked, and was told I could..who are you to say it's wrong?) are people who want to try a different pool than the one they are at. For instance, we prefer to stay at POR..and although SAB holds no interest for me, nor does Animal Kingdom pool (is it that funny green color on purpose, to look like an African swamp?), I'd love to try out the Carribean or Colorado pools. I KNOW when we bring our grands and stay at POR, they beg to go over to the All Stars..especially the baseball pool. We haven't asked to swim there because of lack of time (although we have visited it, and enjoyed walking around and looking at the icons..they remember so much about the AS from previous visits and love to visit), but I would have no problem asking, and if told yes, swimming there.

I figure I'll tell everyone asking about pool hopping that they are free to hop to whichever resort you're staying at.

 And you think that will irritate me? Hardly, my dear. My attitude is that I am there to enjoy and share the magic. I don't own it; it's not mine to decide who can and who cannot use it; I am simply paying for the privilege to have some access to it for what is too often too short a time.

So when I stay at BC, I do not lay exclusive claim to SAB pool and become peeved if I discover some non-guest swimming with me.

When I was at the Poly, I did not begrudge a chair or some space on the beach to someone visiting the resort.

When I stayed at the Contemporary, I didn't think that the shops, monorail, pool, game room, restaurants were mine, all mine and nobody else can use them because I PAID FOR THIS!!!

I could go on, but hopefully you get the idea.

I go to WDW for the fun, the magic, the thrills, and the great memories. I don't go to practice my self-appointed policing skills.

WOW I didn't know you were a mind reader. Disney had to go so far as to put a fence around SAB and hire CM to check resort ID BECAUSE OF overcrowding due to guests having problems reading the signs and obeying the rules.

DVC members have posted being denied pool hopping during busy times. There have been posts of resort id being checked at WL and AKL.

I'm not a MIND READER but I do think it has something to do with some people impressing others of their HONESTY AND INTEGRITY more than their wealth.

People planning a vacation deserve to know that pool hopping is not permitted by rule and that if a pool is important they should pick a resort with the amenities they are looking for.

I'd like to listen in on the phone conversations with the posters asking for "permission":D I suspect the CM think (in some cases) they are talking to a DVC member.

You certainly seem to have trouble reading my posts. I never said anything about why DISNEY did anything regarding pools. I was talking about the people on these boards who complain at every turn about this subject and who attack posters (very often posters who are new to these boards) for simply asking if pool hopping is permitted.

"People planning a vacation deserve to know that pool hopping is not permitted by rule and that if a pool is important they should pick a resort with the amenities they are looking for."

Yes they do. And it's entirely possible to tell them that without being rude, condescending or insulting to them. You don't have to insult people who choose to stay at a value resort in order to do it. It's also important to give them an honest and complete answer that includes the fact that WDW resorts can and do allow guests to swim at other resort pools from time to time.

"DVC members have posted being denied pool hopping during busy times."

Really? Can you direct me to a post where a DVC member was denied permission to swim at another resort? I guess I missed that one. And please, I don't think I'll fall for a post past this point saying " I got told no"...that would be way too obvious don't ya' think?

"Disney had to go so far as to put a fence around SAB and hire CM to check resort ID BECAUSE OF overcrowding due to guests having problems reading the signs and obeying the rules."

Wow, I didn't know you had an insider information on WDW business decisions. I'm really impressed! Much more impressed than I am with how much money others are spending!!!

Enough!

Get a clue people this type of of petty bickering has to stop.

If you cannot follow the posting guidelines the webmasters will need to get involved and determine a course of action.
