Pool Hopping, Visa Rewards, & Fitness

Please excuse all my questions. Obviously I'm new. Is pool hopping still permitted at the DVC resorts? We earn a lot of disney reward points by using our Disney Visa card. What do others use their rewards points for? (We previously used ours to pay for a campsite at Fort Wilderness for two weeks when we had a camper). Do the DVC resorts have fitness rooms and are they free?

For DVC members it is allowed w/the exception of 3 resort pools. Your can use your Reward points for food,shopping,tickets, or lodging at the resorts. No charge for fitness rooms in DVC resorts

If you are staying on a reservation with points, then you can pool hop (providing it is not a black out period) to all the resorts except AKV (both), BLT, and BCV.

We also have a Disney visa and last year, we used the rewards to pay for our dining plan. We are doing the same thing this year. But, we have also considered using it to put toward our annual dues which is most likely what we will do from now on.

I have only been a DVC member for about a a year and I know that VWL, BWV, and BLT (at the CR) have fitness rooms.

What do others use their rewards points for?

We use our Disney Rewards points to pay for restaurant tips or anything we order that is not included in the DDP, for souveniers, and other incendentals. We actually used our rewards for our March, 2009 parks trip and ended up not charging any amounts to our room for the entire stay, which was quite a pleasant surprise.

You can pool hop to onsite Disney resort hotel pools & to DVC resort pools if they have not reached capacity limits or if it is not during blocked dates. You can pool hop to/from DVC's Vero Beach Resort too.

Exception to pool hopping policy is pool hopping is not allowed (ever) at any pools at AKL/AKV or any pools/Stormalong Bay at YC/BC/BCV or at BLT's Bay Cove Pool ( but note that you are permitted to hop to Contemporary Resort's pool). So if you want Stormalong Bay you would have to stay at BCV, if it is Bay Cove Pool you're interested in you'd need to be staying at BLT, etc.

Pool hopping is allowed (except to above mentioned restricted pools) if you are staying on points at a DVC resort & also, your guests that are staying with you may pool hop as well. Check the member site for blocked out dates; next upcoming 3/27 - 4/10.

Fitness centers are free and in addition to what Sandi said about locations at VWL, BWV, BLT there are also centers at OKW, SSR & AKV Kidani; not sure about BCV (it maybe shared with YC/BC resort's facility).
